Early gen is crap though, in my opinion. Peak is 2 or 3 years into the generation.

True, but I think the hangover of PS4 will work better as PS4 games will be playable (and have the PS5 version) on the PS5, so a lot of titles will be on both generations

True, but I think the hangover of PS4 will work better as PS4 games will be playable (and have the PS5 version) on the PS5, so a lot of titles will be on both generationsTrue, and with the console iterations this gen, developers have gotten used to scaling the performance of releases (like on PC) rather than hard locking their settings, so I'd imagine any late-arriving PS4 titles will be patched with extra features on PS5 even without a specific PS5 version (e.g. 60fps for games that are locked to 30, increased draw distance, extra effects, utilising the increased vRAM for higher textures, etc).

I'm not really sure there'll be any need for traditional "remasters" of PS4 games at all unless they actually want to add significant new features? They can literally just patch the current versions for better graphics and performance.

Yep, with any luck its the end of previous generation remasters lol, though I guess some companies might try their luck with a 'Remaster DLC'
