I'm hooked on springwatch and watch it avidly every night...the things I've seen...these animals are pure scum..even the mice are now eating baby birds....got me thinking about lions and the like....murdering buggers...we wouldn't protect a human who goes about eating other people's kids..so why so protective with animals....psychos the lot of them.

Lions are carnivores they have to kill other animals to survive though, they're the same as humans in that they kill animals who are herbivores,. Can you imagine trying to farm lions etc for food? (Is that what you mean?) Humans are actually worse because we don't actually need to eat meat at all, Lions do

This is the dumbest argument I’ve ever seen on this forum :joker: it’s the circle of life and humans are disrupting it

because animals can't speak for themselves, someone's gotta protect them from the evil hunters with their huge ego's

some of the more dangerous animals hunt because they need to eat to survive, humans hunt just for their ego's, profit and fame

They haven't got the brains we have Parmy, they can't think as we do,they don't know they are causing something pain and suffereing whereas we do ,or are supposed to, it's a matter of survival for most of them, for us its a matter of greed.

Animal are programmed to be either herbivores or carnivores, but they will also adapt for survival, that said we are supposed to be the superior species so no question humans should be setting the bar

Dogs know.....which brings me to another point I've been thinking about....I've just saw a video of a dog saving a baby deer from drowning in a lake....it was as though the dog was reassuring the deer so it didn't get scared...and another video of a dog going mis sing for a day before it came back to its owner with another dog and a goat in tow...the goat just jumps into the car along with the dog....

So do you think we can use our dogs to cummunicate with other animals??? Maybe get the dogs to have a word with them about thier behaviour.

I had a dog who used to love to kill rats and baby birds and rabbits :skull: He loved people though

...we as humans don’t save animals...all we do is try to slow down how quickly we’re destroying them and destroying the necessary balance of nature in so many ways.....animals usually kill to either survive or protect...humans don’t need those reasons to kill...

...there would be very little cause to ‘save animals’ if it wasn’t for the intervention and interference of humans through time....all that is being done is the attempt to slow down the destruction of man ...which will preserve all living things on Earth a little longer...

That's elevating humans above what we are though, as much a member of the animal kingdom as any other animal. We're part of the circle of life even if we end up destroying the planet. A self-destructive evolution of life that was probably inevitable. There are plenty of other destructive species that add nothing to the "circle", they're just not as prominent as humans.

To be fair, they also straight up murder the male cubs of other lions for the crime of not being related to them , nothing to do with food. Still love cats though. I adore my little murder floof even though there's a half skinned mouse smeared across the garden path as I type this. She murders increasingly large animals and leaves them there if I haven't given her wet food pouches for a while. She never actually eats the poor buggers, she just maims them and leaves them there. I think it's some sort of threat :umm2:.

Saw in the paper today that two people were spared jail.

They fed live fox cubs to fox hounds so they would get the taste.

Killing for food is for fine, killing for sport is utterly disgusting.

Given the chance elephants will stamp on lion cubs because they know what they grow into.
