Ah see a tweet about it today and was wondering what do you think? Is it sad or do you not mind it?

Nothing wrong with it at all, I mean it's just sitting watching a film, I would like more people to go on their own actually, might stop people talking and being annoying during the film

My first thought is that it’s sad, but thinking about it, who’s gonna know you’re on your own? It’s a dark cinema and people are, or should be, paying attention to the film so I don’t see the problem with it

It would be more sad to not go and see a film because you care what other people think and you need someone to hold your hand while you sit in the dark and watch a screen :hee:

I prefer going on my own. No annoying chit chat during the movie

This
I usd to go on my own regularly and really enjoyed doing so. Didn't bother me to be solo. There were quite a few others on their own too I remember. If people think its sad then I guess I must be sad

Used to go every weekend with Anthony bc we had cinema cards. When we split I kept mine and have been a couple of times on my own.

I wouldn’t really do it myself but then I don’t really go to the cinema, I don’t see it being a huge problem though. Each to their own

I don't think I'd do it but I'm not gonna bat an eyelid at anyone who does

I don't see anything wrong with it.
I personally haven't gone on my own, not sure why. I guess I just haven't really been eager to see anything recently. Although I might go and see Rocketman on Monday as Vue do cheap tickets on Mondays.
I went to the theatre on my own though a few weeks ago and I enjoyed it.

You're not really sociable because you're both watching the screen and staying silent. I hate people who talk during movies it's inconsiderate. So it doesn't really matter if you have someone next to you or not.
I mostly go with friends but i have been on my own because I couldn't wait a week until my friends are free to watch End Game and none of my friends are into horror and i really wanted to watch Halloween last year  it was soo nice being on my own though, my friends like to ask me stuff and it's kinda annoying, i just want to watch the film in peace
If you REALLY want to watch the film and no one wants to see it then go for it Sle. Odeon says enjoy with your friends, family and even on your own. Many people do it.

I actually think that there is something empowering about getting out and doing things you want to do on your own

Not you settling down to watch X Men as though you're seated upon the Iron Throne.

I don't go to the cinema, but if I wanted to see a movie then of course I'd go alone. Why would you care what anybody else thinks anyway?

I prefer going with people so you can talk about it afterwards but I've gone on my own for films that my friends aren't typically interested in. I think the last films I saw on my own were Isle of Dogs and Love, Simon.

I don't like going on my own, I like someone to talk about it with after but nothing wrong with going on your own at all.
This is kinda random but once I accidentally booked the disabled seats which are up a lift and you go down a narrow corridoor and into a closed off box with 2 seats and it was just me and my boyfriend watching a horror (iirc The Nun) and he went the toilet and I was ****ting myself all on my own so I'd be scared to see a horror on my own!

I haven’t done it before but I wouldn’t say it’s sad, no
I’d be far too self conscious omg

It's like people who think it's weird to go to a restaurant on your own
You know, take control of your life! Live it! Do what you want, find new experiences bcos you never know whats round the corner
New Italian restaurant round the corner? Visit it! Don't wait for the opportunity to pass you by

I go to the cinema maybe 6 or 7 times a year and it's usually alone :joker:. I like it! Especially on quiet days. But I like my own company because I'm awesome .
My wife has been with me three times in the last year and that's an unusual amount :joker:... she wanted to see Bohemian Rhapsody and Pikachu and I managed to convince her to come to Captain Marvel :hee:. In general though, I only go to the cinema to see action / blockbuster type films and no one else in my family is a fan. We watch plenty of movies together but for "quieter" films we all prefer watching at home .

It's so true though, like I myself would feel uncomfortable going to the restaurant/cinema on my own but at the end of the day it shows real strength if you can do that...
I went on holiday once and met this old woman who travels around on her own (and this was to Mexico), and so so so much kudos to her...

I adore going to the cinema by myself. There's nothing better than being in that environment and atmosphere by yourself, and getting into a really good film.
When I was at university I went by myself at least 15-20 times. I used to go the Silver Cinema screenings a lot where tickets were only £3, and it used to be me and a theatre full of pensioners :joker:
They built a new ODEON while I was there, which was gorgeous. The IMAX theatre was enormous.

...we can so much live within our own restrictions and when we break those restrictions down...?...they mostly don’t make sense and there is no reason for them...so you’re so right, Underscore...it’s a liberating feeling to take control of yourself with lots of things that you want to do or try, you know.... because as you say...?...otherwise perfect moments can pass you by and things can’t always be revisited...

i've been away from home on business loads of times, many of which were on my own. You have the choice of sitting vegetating in a hotel room or getting out, seeing the area, eating, drinking and sampling the entertainment. Loads of people do their own thing, on their own, every single day.
