Coming from the other thread, A suggestion is to make an infraction thread instead of getting DM’s all the time. It would be locked and would be like the name change thread.

Anways I don’t see the point for the suggestion section if it’s never used even with most members wanting it I-Actually it is, when something we feel benefits the forum is suggested and can be added it is, smileys are added from this forum, profile favourites, I've added some bbcode that was suggested that's just off the top of my head, but I've also pointed out many many times that not everything that is suggested is good for or suitable for the forum

I personally think a like/reaction button would be good for the forum but it's really not as simple as some think like going into the control panel and clicking a button, James has added a lot of mods to this forum and he writes a lot of code himself so when adding new things they need to be sourced first and he then a lot of the time has to rewrite the code so it doesnt affect other mods negatively.

In all honesty the only good I can see this doing is that it might discourage people from breaking rules so they don't have their dirty laundry aired all around the forum, but at what cost? Like especially after time and after people change, there's always gonna be that infractions thread detailing all the bad things they've done that can be used against them (i.e. "I'm NICE!!!" followed up by "well if you're so nice why did you slutshame RileyH in 2018 :/")

Plus it kinda opens up a bit of criticism to the mods because there's always gonna be a blurred line with "baiting" in which it can always be argued something isn't baity which just contributes more to "mods are biased!!!"

Like I think it's a good idea in theory but it does sort of compromise privacy and... for what? Even if it did discourage people from breaking rules, there'd still be some people who'd do it anyway because they couldn't care if there's a post on the forum describing their rule-breaking briefly that would eventually get buried posts upon posts (while also all other infractions being accessible to those who don't want them public)

tl;dr i'd be up for it but it doesn't seem practical and it'd probably cause more issues than problems it could potentially solve

And honestly members moan when suggestions threads end up closed, well posts like that are normally the start of them going downhill, suggestions threads aren't a place to air problems with your personal infractions or bans, private messages are for stuff like that.

Mods and admin do a thankless job, people need to realise this is not Facebook and you can’t have it exclusively for you and your friends.

There is no agenda with the mods or admin if you are getting infractions you are breaking the rules plain and simple.

I used to get infractions and bans all the time I still do get the odd infraction but I’ve learned to let things go and stop taking everything to heart.

I saw this as massively hypocritical, and yes, called it out. Whats the point in taking the piss saying other members are reporting nonestop, when its actually you doing that? Not my most professional moment, but..it was a ridiculous situation tbh. And one I will gladly take a bollocking for as I know I shouldn't have, but couldn't not do it, in the moment.

my personal ambition for this forum, i want respect, positivity on here for each other and only that (so getting rid of all negativity on here)

my most wonderful moments on the forum have been in Chat & Games where i can have fun and a good bit of laughing

the more positive threads in SD, so this is why i've moved over to look for any interesting and fun news out there to post it on here, i'm so not into the far right stuff in SD, way too stressful for me

even though i am alone in the voice subforum for example i still enjoy sharing nice things from the voice usa, would like more people to chat with me in there but i can't force anyone to do that either


so i get emotional when people diss me with the ''being the only one posting in a thread'' comments but it doesn't stop me from having fun


if you guys have opened up about all of those infractions, i wanted to open up about something myself

i still enjoy being on this forum and will continue to have fun :hee:

I have admitted it was a wrong decision 'professionally'. But, its something I stand by personally as, I cannot abide such hypocrisy and the way I could see the fans being flamed on purpose, only for reports to then come in about the replies, then the sneery type 'oh X will be nonestop reporting this thread', or whatever it was. So yeah, I can say an empty sorry if you want, but I won't mean it. The best I can do is..I know I should not have done it and will refrain from doing it again, though hope no members do that again as it was ridiculous :shrug:

Vicky is great, she does a great job, it just seems like certain members are very keen on trying to demean the mods because they’re the ones who keep getting reprimanded for their actions (rightly reprimanded) if you don’t like the consequences of breaking the rules constantly and so obviously, then don’t do it, or leave, don’t harass and victimise people because they enforce the rules you agreed to, it’s like going into a library and having a tantrum when being told to be keep quiet, bizarre
