I voted for Cody. Fat.Rat's is good also but the Eye is probably more of a success than the Dome.

Stropz's as its done with all his/her skills as its done plainly on paint and cause its the worst
They are all good , I voted for TonyLeMesmer`s 2nd.
Red white and blue colours, subtle running track, and clear location and year.
Having two such similar entries will probably split the vote though. Good luck to all.

Stropz! It's a modern masterpiece. You can feel the passion in her work and can tell it comes straight from the heart. Passion is what the olympics are about. Our homeland. Our people. Our community! Stand up and take pride people! A vote for Stropz is a vote for your country!

It’s hard to choose because they’re all really good, and I definitely think they’re ALL better than what we’re actually using.

Fat.Rat's and Cody's ideas are cool...
But out of the logos themselves I like Matt's second one, and I also like TonyLeMesmer's second one...Stropz's is legendary... so I'll just randomly vote one of those!
EDIT: Shut up about Nicky!

It had to be Stropz. Could it be anyone else?
Just a quick tip for you Stropz:

Ooh you bitch. Knocking one of the UK's up and coming artists! Don't you see the irony in them?

Lmao@you guys.. I can't believe I'm winning this. Too funny!
On a serious note.. the other entries are all fantastic.. they just lack the sheer artistic brilliance of mine..
.. Now, I'm guna go try the 'shift' circle trick.. thanks Matt..
Edit to add: Ok, tried it and I'm still just as good.

Some very good entries there but my vote went to Stropz. I just love her bold use of colour juxtaposed with the intricate design. It has a raw, almost childlike simplicity which is complimented by the sloppy lettering giving the whole project a air of amateurish naivety! Of course that impression is in contrast to the renowned cynicism of the artist, who's use of irregular circle shapes in the traditional Olympic symbol hints at the corruption and ruination that is synonymous with the olympics in our hardened and sceptical modern society. A breathtaking piece!
Either that or one of her kids did it  :pat:

Oh no, the Tate Modern are coming after me, maybe they'll juxtapose me against a wall some night in a dimly illuminated alleyway and apply unnecessary amounts of force to my physical personage!! Lol, art lovers being violent, now there's an oxymoron for you!

They may kill you, and get Damian Hirst to slice you in half and preserve you in formaldehyde. Or worse still, L may do it for her 2nd comission!

Maybe I should have added a disclaimer: "You don't have to be stoned to appreciate Stropz's artwork but it helps"

You don't have to be stoned to appreciate Slartibartfast's sense of humour, but it's 10 times funnier if you are..

Woohoo!! In that case, doobies for everyone! And since most women say they want a man who makes them laugh and I'll be 10 times funnier, that's 10 times more women!!
Now, what's 10 times zero...... anyone??
lily.

Lmao.. See, this is why I give you karma! .. And, now that I know it annoys you, I'm guna keep on "giving you one" every chance I get..

Well I suppose if it's you "giving me one" on a regular basis, I'd be happy enough!

Yeah, it's a probably good sign that you don't get it Ash!!
And Stropz, I'm still living my misspent youth!! It's just that the "youth" part finished a while ago!
lily.
11-06-2007, 06:18 PM
Thanks girl. It's awe-inspiring isn't it?
Edit: As opposed to the vomit-inducing logo which was actually to be used! LoL
lily.
11-06-2007, 06:20 PM
And, yes, I agree with Slarti... it's most definitely a positive on your part that you don't understand it Ash..
Edit to add: My youth is also finished, but I'm reaping the rewards of recreational drug misuse years later..

11-06-2007, 06:22 PM
Hahaha.. I'll get back to you in 5 years and let you know.
And it's definitely way, WAY better than the one we're using... seriously, I thought it was a joke!
lily.
11-06-2007, 06:23 PM
Yeah, but that seems to be the way things are designed nowadays. I've lost count of the number of "professional" logos which look as though they have been etched by the hand of a 5 year old.

11-06-2007, 06:26 PM
Someone probably said that was the way forward to get them out of doing too much work, and now everyone does it!
I can easily see people considering it as simply a ‘new’ trend though… and it’s just stuck. So convenient for designers really.
