Boris has had a hard time for the things he’s actually done though, completely different, if there were articles about him not being fit for office because he’s overweight so therefore more likely to have a heart attack, I’d agree with you, his hard time has come from things he’s said and done through his political career.

It's not ageist to say that if the retirement age is 67 for the rest of us then it should be the same for the government and the Lords. I'm only referring to Corbyn because he's the subject of the thread, but I think they should all make way, at retirement time, for younger people.

the civil service are there to carry out the wishes of whatever government is in charge, so they are not supposed to show any political bias. It's an interesting one, because this is an individual and not a party. Whatever, it's not their place to comment in my opinion.

However if you are fit and compitent at 67 what happens on the stroke of midnight on your birthday, Do all your faculties desert you? What an odd concept, if you choose to and are able then retirement is a personal decision.

Everyone is entitled to voice their opinion, it's just not something that the civil service should have as a matter of public record.
