I'm sure gallons and gallons of tears and sweat will be spilt over trying to explain how attention-seeking she's trying to be, how disrespectful she is to her country, and how calculated and virtue-signalling this all is when it was just an off-the-cuff comment in an interview largely about everything else but politics.

She has every right to decline and explain why she's declining, but it was such a small comment that's been blown laughably out of proportion. Funny how it's such a big deal when a woman does it, but entire teams (Patriots, Eagles) of American footballers and basketballers have audibly refused such a meeting too

she is perfectly entitled to turn down an invite, same as people have turned down requests to meet the queen or receive an honour. It's called democracy

Up to her innit.

Most people would love to visit the White House, she might not get a chance after 2024 so if she'd have otherwise gone she might be wise to reconsider.

She should ask for a tour when the orange baby is on one of his countless golfing breaks paid for by the taxpayer :hee:

I wouldn't go under this administration either if given the chance.

The fact that this is such big news speaks volumes of conservative fragility. Conservatives and the right wing are up in arms about it, just like they were with the NFL protests when, if they are criticised, they'll scream until they are blue in the face about how criticism is infracting on their freedom of speech. The lack of self awareness is astounding on their part.

Is it though?

If you google her name it's mostly talking about her "epic pose" or when she said you can't win without gay players. Searching her name on twitter is much of the same, apart from the odd mouth-frother. Plus there's stories about her oh-so-enticing invitation to spend with blooming AOC.

So yeah, it seems like mostly no-one cares.

At the end of the day she's a great footballer and her results speak for themselves.
She doesn't need to compromise herself for a photo opp with the orange moron who is no friend to lgbt people

I never said it wasn't news at all, but it's not something anyone is particularly angry about, certainly not to the point of justifying a rabid rant:p
