I want Tom Holland to be portrayed as gay

Good for Tom <3

Though it should be something that just is, there shouldn't be a sappy storyline about it, just have it so he happens to have a bf/be interested in a dude.

That would be great actually

We don’t want an emotional coming out though, just have him dance with a guy at a graduation party or something

What’s pathetic is being that bothered by someone’s sexuality

It's a superhero movie, any and all romance plots will be sappy.

Only if they're the best fit for the role - if actors had the match their roles' sexualities, Broadway would close down!

Tom Holland used to do ballet, so he's probably gay.

I don’t believe gays should be shoehorned into roles just cause they’re gay, if they’re the best person for the role and happen to be gay then fine

I don’t think Tom Holland personally requesting to include LGBT characters in lead roles is anything to do with him wanting a bigger pay cheque

I actually wouldn't want Peter Parker to be gay tbh, it's not who he is and it would feel a bit shoehorned at this point. I've never liked it when a character is retconned to be a different sexuality, I'd much rather they use a character that's always been that sexuality and give them equal representation instead.

Northstar, Wiccan, Hulkling. These are three characters they could easily use if they want a gay superhero in the MCU and the last two are part of the Young Avengers which is rumoured to be in development and those two characters have quite a fervent fanbase. I want LGBT characters in the MCU but I don't want characters altered for the sake of it and I don't want them to be tokens either. Give an existing marvel comic LGBT character as much spotlight as the other heroes on screen for more than just their sexuality. That's how you do representation right.

I don't see any issue with a NEW Peter Parker being gay, but the current one has already had female love interests so he would surely be bisexual . You could argue that he was in the closet but that's not how it's portrayed in Homecoming at all; he's definitely into the Vulture's daughter.

I am getting some serious BFF vibes between him and MJ in the MCU though, I'm not seeing that turning into a convincing relationship.

:eyes: When 99% of onscreen representation is heterosexual comments like that are laughable.

Tell me, how many LGBT characters are there in the MCU? I find the whole 'stop making everything gay' argument silly when you consider that there are no openly LGBT characters in the MCU. Valkyrie was meant to be but since they removed all mention of it then she doesn't really count.

Yeah, I've heard there's gonna be a gay hero in Eternals and if Young Avengers ends up being a thing then they could have two as well.

Considering the runaway successes of both Captain Marvel and Black Panther, I'm surprised they haven't fast tracked a film with an LGBT hero yet.

I have no clue about the Eternals since I'm not familiar with them but with the YA, it'd be Hulkling and Wiccan.

Since the X-Men are being introduced to MCU, I can see Iceman being gay if they begin their franchise with the original X-Men team.

His younger self came out in All-New X-Men #40 in 2015. Dezzy, have you read that comic?

I'm guessing it's a "Hulk Jr" - most of the Teen Titans and Young Justice from DC are young versions of the main heroes, so it's probably the same over at Marvel.

He's a skrull that idolises the Hulk if I remember right so he imitates Hulk's powers. He's in a relationship with Wiccan (who, in the comics, is Scarlet Witch's son) and they're both pretty popular with a lot of readers.

I'm not a huge reader of comics but when I do, I generally go for DC. I'm just up to date with Marvel because I have a friend that's obsessed with the comics.

I was never a huge fan of them turning Iceman gay and when I saw pictures of the panels I thought it wasn't great. It felt shoehorned when they could have just came up with someone new who was written to be gay from the outset.

You would probably get a lot of negativity tuning Spider-Man’s character gay,it would be far better to start with new characters that are gay.

Hulkling is a Skrull- Kree hybrid. His character is patterned on the Hulk.

Is there a reason he was patterned on Hulk?

There's a DC storyline where an alien villain models his henchmen on the various villains from Earth, because he likes them and basically wants to be the ruler of his own versions of them.

Like Dezzy said, he idolises the Hulk. It's been years since I read it but I'm sure that's the main reason.

Daredevil. I want to start that myself but it's got amazing reviews.

Luke Cage and Jessica Jones are amazing too.

Their shows, along with Iron Fist, leads them all to team up in the Defenders.

Is the live action Titans show good?I enjoyed it and binged it in like 2 days. But literally all of the best action scenes are Robin (they're pretty brutal :umm2: ) and it kind of made me wish they'd just do a Nightwing spin-off .

And then after that the most interesting characters (again in my opinion) are Hawk and Dove who appear in a few episodes and have one dedicated episode, and Donna Troy (Wonder Woman's sidekick) who was introduced in the last couple of episodes.

It's much (much) darker than the CW's shows, which I think generally works better for DC, especially anything vaguely Batman-related and again Dick Grayson / Robin / Nightwing is very much the lead in this.

The actual kids thus far are sort of.. irritating and incompetent...

Season two should be good though, they've got Jorah Mormont coming on board as (retired) Batman / Bruce Wayne which could be interesting. Also Superman was namedropped a couple of times and there was a post credits scene on the finale that... (S2 character addition spoiler)

Heavily implies that some version of Superboy will be joining

In terms of the Marvel Netflix shows they're all worth a watch IMO. Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Punisher especially but Luke Cage, Iron Fist (S2 more than S1, to be fair) and Defenders are a decent watch too.

All are finished now (due to Disney streaming) BUT they all have complete story arcs, nothing was left on an unfinished note. Maybe Luke Cage very slightly ambiguous. DD's 3 seasons and Punisher's 2 seasons especially feel like "complete stories" to me.

Ooh, so the story is like, a sequel to the main marvel characters and line then?

No, it happens at the same time as everything else and the reason why Scarlet Witch has a grown up son is because she created him with magic when she went mad one time and ****ed up reality, if I remember right.
