[Kate Hoey , 73 has announced she will stand down as a Labour MP at the next election.
Ms Hoey, a Brexit supporter, has represented Remain-voting Vauxhall in London since 1989.
The former minister tweeted a letter to her constituents which said she would
"not seek re-election as a Labour candidate".
"Until the next general election I will of course continue every single day
to give my all to help constituents in Vauxhall and to campaign for policies that
make life better for residents," she said.
"I will carry on until a general election serving with the energy, honesty
and integrity that I have tried to bring to public service my whole life.]

Good riddance.
I cannot stand the woman.
Her cruel fox hunting support and near enough everything she says on anything else too.
Good news she's going.

So people are willing to write her off because of her opinions surrounding a trade union? Riiiiight.

She’s a right wing brexiter and doesn’t belong in the Labour Party

Like I said I've not heard of her - how is she right wing? Brexit isn't a right/left issue, what else is there? I tried googling to see who she was but all that came up was the stuff mentioned in the thread.

It really bugs me when these mps seem to think it's them personally the constituents want.... If you don't want to represent the Labour party foff!

She represents Labour in no way shape or form, I can't believe she's been allowed to sit for them

I can't, I'd go so far as to say there are active infiltrators in the Labour party who when the chips are down vote on tory lines every time! Whether it's on favour of austerity or war, certain mps are unashamedly throwing their voters under the bus on key issues.
She has always been a left winger and a perfect fit for the labour party to me

A left winger who supports hunting? No

There are arguments to be made in favour of fox hunting tbh.
Is that and Brexit the only things when make her an evil right wing bigot, or are there more substantive ones too?

I agree with you again reece.
I've never considered Hoey a representative of Labour.
On most issues, I have no agreement with her whatsoever.
She was likely going to be pushed out by her constituency too.
As I said before, for me, good riddance to her.
Awful woman.

She sounds pretty left to me:
Prior to being a member of the Labour Party, Hoey was a member of the International Marxist Group
Hoey has also opposed the smoking ban in clubs and pubs, reclassification of cannabis from a Class B to Class C and originally opposed devolution.
she voted in favour of same-sex marriage in 2013
Hoey nominated John McDonnell for the Labour leadership election of 2010, but on his withdrawal, she switched her nomination to Diane Abbott
But nooo, for bipartisan issues and non-defined reasons, she's right wing and needs to be purged?
