That person who you maybe looked up to or could open up to ..

I don't mean like a best friend...but someone close to your parents who you could often rely upon

My uncle dave..he wasn't my uncle but he was my dad's best friend in his golfing circles and new year day celebratory circles

I guess it has to be him now that all the others are family members or friends of mine

So yeah; non uncle dave ..he found me sleeping, pissed one night sleeping on a path halfway up a wooded area on his way home from the pub..

I was 16..he made sure I was ok and basically carried me home..to my dad. My dad, who went mental ballistic at the site of dave and me..dave had to use the excuse that he thought I was my older brother so didn't think much off it ...me however wasn't in a state to have an excuse and got the battering of my life..

Well me and dave talked about that night in the years to come..I thanked him for picking me up and told him he was a **** for not being my dad.

Am closer to a select few on here than some of my family. You can choose your friends but are stuck with your family.

That's sad Kate, do you not get along with any of them ?

I never see them Kaz. Not since my mum passed away. Yes it is sad. But I have a best friend who is like a sister and I get on really well with her family.
