People constantly knocking threads that people are disscussing in calling them pointless etc

If people don't like threads, they shouldn't comment in them and not state that they find them pointless etc

I think you're right really - it does depend on what people define as 'pointless'.
In terms of some topics though, sometimes they're repetitive or their content is already covered in others... in that case they're usually just merged.

If you don't think a topic is worth commenting on but to complain about the topic itself just don't bother and the thread will go down the list of topics and die.

All users should make sure they check previous topics to make sure they are not repeating something that has already been posted. If you don't you thread will be either merged, locked or deleted.

If you think a user is spamming the site with stupid threads report them without commenting on them and the admin team will decide what action to take.

REMEMBER - if you insult someone for posting a thread that you consider stupid then it will be YOU that gets the warning and not the tropic starter!
