Too hot to sleep. Am downstairs listening to Smooth FM. Eating icecream.
Somewhere across the country a handful off late night tibbers are also online. What you all up to this late?

Watching "The Mighty Redcar" again on BBC Player with the window flung wide open listening to the huge thunder and torrential rain.
Thankfully the storm seems to have broken the heat a bit, definitely a little cooler at least!

I've mainly just been watching the wildly inconsistent season 6 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
The heat has been atrocious, my poor Cat can't even rest properly because she's feeling so hot.

Storm has passed and it has immediately returned to being as hot as it was earlier. God help me! Melting.

there is 60% chance that a station in London and the SE (only) will break the record high of 38.5°C recorded in Kent in August 2003

I managed to sleep thanks to a hell of a lot of gin and tonics before bed but the storm woke me up at 3. Woke up this morning drenched. Yesterday evening I was literally melting it was disgusting. I'm not a summer person I actually hate hot weather

I have moaned quite a bit that I can't sleep but the storm didn't wake me last night so maybe I am. Doesn't feel like it though.

Well, when I did wake through the night all I heard was the fan cooling the room down.

Meaning fans don't really help that much on hot weather.

I find cool refreshing white wine is ideal to cool one down in a heatwave

Ice cold lager is ideal. A good pint of Stella is the dogs bollocks at the end of a hot day

No drinks even really help, maybe just for a short time but after you're hot again
Maybe energy drinks are the best (imo), they always hydrate me the most as well and I stop feeling thirsty after I drink them more than anything else

i have fruit drinks ''dubbeldrank'' i prefer apple, peach
but orange, kiwi is also nice
and Mango, Passion fruit is lovely
and for the rest i have lemonades with different flavours, the one you have to fill with water, i like raspberry, strawberry zero sugar, orange the most from those

Get down your local Spar and get 4 cans of Stella and a half bottle of Bells
You'd have a great night on that
Finish off with a kebab at midnight and half an hour on babestation

If you are at home and really hot, pop your feet in a bowl of cold water.
Does the trick.

a advice from me, shower with warm water not cold water
if warm water, it signals your body to cool down
if cold water, it signals your body to warm up

Just flip on the AC :dazzler:
But real talk: I forget, is AC just a rich thing over there or AC just doesn’t exist at all in homes?

I think it does exist but just in more expensive places/houses, we REALLY need it though if it's just gonna get hotter every year :idc:

They’re not really a thing, since it’s unnecessary, British homes are also built different then other countries, they’re built to keep the heat in for the cold weather.

My 250 year old 3 foot thick wall stone farmhouse had natural Aircon. It never got too hot or too cold
Well the bedroom used to be 40F in the winter but it was lovely in the summer
Whatever day Sumner fell on that year...
