Is this going on in anyone else’s area? Seen a lot of people in the uk from different places talk about it on twitter. Love a good thunderstorm!

Yeah been raging here for about an hour (North Wales).

Got the window open listening to the rain and the thunder, bliss.

We’ve just had a huge bit of thunder, enough to wake up our entire street pretty much

I think Parm is quite local to me, so wonder if he was woken up too

I could see flashes around 2am way off in the distance, probably over Mitchell and Parm, no thunder though

Weve been away in a hotel for a few nights and the heat has been unreal, so we went out walking about 3am because we were expecting the thunder and lightning but there was nowt :/

I tend to get a tension headache when it's so hot/clammy and I know it will go once it thunders

/weird

I left the roof of my car down. I thought, it'll be okay, it's hot... it's not going to rain.

It's drying out in the sun right now.... should've asked Trumpet.

LT explain my area being totally covered in this image, but we haven't even had any rain last night or today, let alone a thunder storm :suspect:. Currently mostly overcast with a few patches of blue sky, horrible, hot, and humid.

Where is my thunder storm?

I am ****ing melting. The car temp reading hit 31 yesterday. Discusten.

See that bright pink bit about 1.5cm south of Norwich? Well my open car was almost directly underneath it.

Everyone in work is talking about how loud the thunder was last night, I didn't hear a thing  Possibly over medicated my summer cold

I live in Manchester and it was so loud the noise woke me up from deep sleep. I love Thunder and Lightning though so it’s all good. Although it was one of the loudest I’ve ver heard

I love a good storm and am usually a light sleeper so God knows how I've slept through it....

Still waiting for LT to explain the lack of thunder or rain when I'm under a pink patch :suspect:. WELL?

Pink denotes rain intensity on radar, only the east coast electrified at low level - in the west (glasgow) once it moved up the campsie fells and then loch lomond it sparked. There were the odd bolts but it was the east that took the hit and the same on Thursday

There was one lightning strike in our area that sounded like a bomb went off, there was basically no gap between the lightning or the thunder either so I assume it struck close by but yeah, possibly the scariest storm I've ever witnessed and I usually love storms. I think we were pretty much at the centre of it though.

I can only assume that we all slept through all of this and it dried up by morning because according to these it definitely hit here :joker:. We did have the industrial fan on setting 2 last night which is roughly the decibels of a light aircraft taking off.
