[Independent Sheffield Hallam MP Jared O'Mara
has said he will resign when parliament
returns from its summer recess in September.
The 37-year-old, who sensationally
claimed his seat from former
deputy prime minister Sir Nick Clegg in 2017,
told local newspaper the Sheffield Star
that he would quit after an earlier announcement
that he would be taking time off to
get help for mental health problems.
In a statement, he said he wanted to
apologise to his family, friends and
constituents for having
"not been honest with you about the
depths of my depression and self-loathing".]

Thankfully at last he's doing the right thing.
For himself too I think so best of luck in getting help to sort himself out hopefully.
Another seat I'd guess for the Lib Dems again then.
one has to ask how he managed to get on the women and equalities committee having posted on twitter that women attending a concert were "sexy little slags"
Also, i don't like when people feign medical conditions to excuse being an arsehole, and I'm getting the feeling this is one such example

Using Tax Payers Money
[Former Labour MP Jared O'Mara has
been jailed for four years for making
fraudulent expenses claims to fund an
"extensive" cocaine habit while in office.
The 41-year-old was convicted of trying
to claim up to tens of thousands of pounds

above all, cocaine".]
The labour party were responsible for picking him as a candidate to fight the seat, how the hell was he selected?

It's Labour's fault in that constituency that this unsavoury character got selected and became an MP.
Obviously I was pleased to see Clegg's seat fall.
However how this guy got through that constituency's selection process is unbelievable.
Not sure what prison will do now he's housed at the taxpayers expense.
However how no one in that constituency seemed not to KNOW anything about his life and character is concerning.
