This is what happens when America's greatest threat and its most dominant governing ideology are both white supremacist terrorism

I doubt the next shooter will even wait for this and El Paso to leave the news cycle before fronting the next attack

President after President after President, all of different political views have all presided over mass shootings and not got a grip on the problem. Its a hot potato in the US, lets see who runs with it now there is a new election campaign in full swing

The difference with this president is he also provides the ideology for those killers

As I said only a matters of hours ago for a different shooting (what a depressing way to start a sentence), no systematic political reform can happen until the NRA, and its funding of Republican representatives, are scrutinised

What this administration does have over previous ones is that no administration in recent American history has legitimised and endorsed these extremist ideologies to such a degree (remember when someone shouted "shoot them" in a response to a question about immigrants at a Trump campaign and the President laughed? That was just the other week)

as i have said many times Americans are happy to trade these shootings amid 300,000,000 peoplefor the right to bear arms and people in the UK are just going to have to accept that and concentrate on the UK

America cannot be changed without a process lasting generations. It may seem cold, but that's the way it is

Another right wing terrorist that will never be called as such and will be downplayed by the right because they'd rather defend terrorism then denounce the extremism that's becoming an epidemic on the right. There will be another attack before the next week ends, I don't doubt it. Right Wing terrorism has become the biggest threat to the US people and Trump only encourages it by appealing to his racist base and by stirring up hatred against minorities and making targets of people who criticise him like the dictator he wants to be.

There's nothing else to be said here that wasn't said in the other thread. An utter waste of life that the NRA is happy to see happen again and again. America is ****ed.

Any smart person in the UK would be wise to pay close attention to any and all news coming out of the US given that we're gonna be living in their pocket come October.

True actually.
Demilitarization should have happened in the 19th century when they stopped being a frontier country

'Yeah, let's not focus on three deadly terrorist attacks in a week, let's focus on drugs instead 'cus goes against message for terrorists not to be dark skinned and muslim.'

im sorry that the cold hard reality of the real threat to America puts this awful incident into perspective

People choose to take drugs knowing the consequences, people don’t choose to get slaughtered just because they wanted to go shopping.

The constant need to try and be ‘edgy’ on here is nauseating

America cares more about its guns that it does about its citizens, that’s a clear and unquestionable fact these days and it must be a terrifying place to live right now
