View Full Version : Outcry at gay romp

From The DS

OUTRAGED viewers last night slammed TV bosses for showing Gerry and Seany in a live, prime-time gay romp.

The camp pair snuggled up in bed and stroked each other’s hair on Big Bro’s E4 feed at a time when children would be watching.

They then rolled around together as their hands wandered.

Viewers were left cold by their steamy groping. And the Daily Star was swamped by callers branding the scenes “sick”, and saying Channel 4 should have pulled the plug.

One, Angie Robinson, said the antics were unsuitable for showing when kids were watching.

She said: “It was on at 6.30 in the evening when my daughter was watching. It’s not the kind of thing you want people to see.”

Angie, 36, from Abbey Wood, south-east London, said Aleisha, nine, was shocked.

“She said: ‘Ugh, look at that, Mummy.’ I mean, why are they showing that? They should have turned the cameras off.”

Another caller raged: “It’s not that it was two men – people rolling around together isn’t suitable for that time of day, full stop.”

The romp followed Gerry Stergiopoulos, 31, and Seany O’Kane, 25, vowing to be the first gays on BB not to bitch about each other.

Gerry said: “They want a gay bitch fight but they’re not getting one. On this show the gay men never get along. But we are cool. We even share a bed.”

Later when Gerry had his face painted like a tiger, he crawled and roared.

Seany joked: “Get down boy. I like it hard and wet. Bitch!”

Would they complain if it Chanelle & Ziggy? No, they wouldn't, so they can frigg off. Although i do suspect this is yet more bull from the Daily Star.

omg exactly ziggy has been saying things like he wants to rip chanelles clothes off and theyve been snogging and what not soon enough there will be live porn and i really don't want to see that, i read in the paper that ziggy has had threesoms infront of his other band mates so i dont think having sex on live tv will stop him

It's in 'The Star' so it's obviously true.

Turn it over then! I can't believe people find the time to ring up and complain.

They have shown gay kisses on prime time TV before.

Oh and only an ignorant person would call it sick.

Pathetic.....

Maybe someone should ask Angie from Abbey-Wood why her nine year old daughter was watching Big Borther unsupervised....

If she's so concerned, she should have been a more diligent mother....

Don't blame the programme, love... you haven't got a leg to stand on when you're a bad mother!!!

Thanks Psylocke

Well it has to be said....

Big Brother is not a childrens tv show else it would be shown after Teletubbies at 10am in the morning....

I don;t care if people think I am going at this too strong, but i'm sure Angie from Abbey-Wood is enjoying her fifteen minutes.... and a pay check from the Star.

I think it's all down to pure bigotry. I find people being disgusted at two men having a bit of a cuddle, well, disgusting.

Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhggghhhhhhh

Its sad that homophobia is kinda expected now.

But its strange because "lesbian" antics would be sexy, but gay guys is "disgusting"

Thats the society we are living in,tho the younger generation are changing that slowly.

Superb post - I dont like the fact that people use their children as an excuse to air their bigoted views to the world.

Like many have said would anyone have complained if it were a hetrosexual couple, also why complain to the star? why not to Ofcom if you find it so offensive, or to CH4 anyone but the Star

Some people are so bloody narrow minded.

Whats the difference between a man and a women and two men or two women having a fondle..... it makes me so mad that people can get on their high horses and be so outraged when its their veiws that need changing......

Ah the Star!:cloud:

Could of expected it then?

I was once quoted in the local press and the words were totally twisted.

Maybe what the mother really said was this;
"Oh how delightful, isn't it lovely to see two gay men being able to show free expression on TV?"

Spot on, excellent post!!

I'll be interested in seeing this "gay romp" on the highlights show tonight, see just how much "steamy groping" there is. I'm willing to predict now that this was a non-event and Angie's need to ring the Star to complain was more to do with her own homophobic distaste than anything else.

Turn over to something else Angie, or at least don't rely on the telly to act as your baysitter! And I hope your daughters "Ugh" reaction was because she's nine (all boys are apparently "icky" at that age!!) and not because you've managed to pass on your own homophobia to her. :bored:

Safer for the boys to have it.

Hirschfelder

You have to remember homosexuality is still a marginal practice and only 2-5% of people are gay

Most of us haven't seen gay sex before and most of us are straight. #I don't care what 2 people get up to in private, but to see 2 men groping one another is going to make most people feel a bit sick

I'm not saying it is unnatural or anything, live and let live and all that, but for a straight man, the sight of two men kissing and groping does make you sick

If Channel4 want to show it, it is up to them, but it will make a lot of people sick

Sarah.
12-06-2007, 05:22 PM
Well I personally think it isn't nice to watch, but all these people need to do is change the channel.

i reckon most things will offend somone.and your oppinion applies to so many minorities that makes it sound illogical and dated

I mean does that mean if there were a mixed race relationship in there it would make people sick?

ANYBODY having hardcore sex on tv wouldnt be nice to see.

Lots of this talk of Gay people making you sick is Homophobia and bigotry wrapped up in some see through wrapping.

and your percentages are under the usual estimation of 1% & to 11%

and usually these surveys numbers are much smaller than the real estimation, which arent known due to people avoiding saying they are gay.i mean i bet each person on this board probably know more than 4 gay people.

Plus the percentage of Gay viewers of Big Brother is Huge.women and gay men are BB viwers main demographic

I dont want to watch ANYONE have sex on BB but I dont mind a bit of love being shown by anyone

Great! Back to where we were.

I'm not offended by two gay men kissing and nor are my two children who are old enough to understand about it.

Mrs Angry of the Daily Star needs to learn about tolerance and bring her daughter up with tolerance and not to be homophobic because that is the only way to stop certain nasty bigots behaving in the way they do!

Sunny_01
12-06-2007, 06:35 PM
Like someone said much earlier in the thread, this woman should be looking after her child rather than sitting her in front of the tv to watch shows like BB. I personally would not allow a child of 9 to watch BB, it just isnt an age appropriate show.
