And it timeless too, I rewatched it last Christmas for the first time in years and it's still so good

the last film in the series with a different actor was awful ... that particular cast at that time was what made it

Am I wrong or do they need to remake films to keep the licensing?

Am I wrong or do they need to remake films to keep the licensing?Only for things where its not their own intellectual property and has a clause where it will "revert back" if not used. E.g. I believe Sony only did the Andrew Garfield "Amazing Spider-man" movies or the licence would be returned to Marvel, and Fox made the new (awful) Fantastic Four for the same reason.

Home Alone was 20th Century Fox so is presumably now owned entirely by Disney. I can see them remaking a lot of Fox properties under the full Disney banner, sadly, as they will undoubtedly be inferior knock-offs.

Outside of the first two movies, its not like the franchise has an amazing history. Hopefully the remake will be more along the simple lines of the first two.

Disney don't need to have an original thought in their head but I wish they did.

Inside Out was iconic

The original Film was fine, there's no need to remake it imo.
