Apparently it has been advertised on TV today, Emily is in the new Heat magazine and the story is billed as "What Really Happened". She will make a tidy sum out of this. What do you think? Should she profit from this?

Not all black people do say it and she never said that. Most black people who think they are street do, hence the street cred.

I suppose one could say should we not all profit from our mistakes.
It depends on if you believe she is racist or not. I don't believe she is. A racist would not cosy up and chat to a person whose race they hate.......There was no argument...There was no sign of intent to hurt...
I think for reasons of ratings BB removed her unjustifiably. As the saying goes a dog is allowed one bite.....Emily had her BB teeth removed.......While BB fed into some nice ratings and advertiser keeness.....Money talks for BB So why should it not talk for a young maybe silly lass that has been accused without trial found guilty and punishment executed.....

if you listen to rap songs, its one of the most used words, thats what i meant when i said she was trying to be streetcred. u cant tell me she meant that in a racist way sunlight? .. yes, it was wrong, and she's paid a heavy price for a slip of the tongue.

My intent in this thread was not to start (yet another) discussion on whether members think Emily is racist or not. My question was do you agree with her selling her story? Please stick to the topic. Will anybody be interested to hear what she has to say?

Your original question was about her making a profit from the event.....Not about does one want to hear what she said.
In replying to the original question posed then points of view of "Profit" will depend on the issue of guilt or not.....It is and was therefore inevitable the race discussion was refuelled.....
I think to rebuke people who are genuinely responding to your post is bad mannered......

So I cannot ask the question in the same thread. Should I have made a new one up for that question? I do not want this to turn into another discussion on whether she was racist or not. There have been plenty of threads about this already. So I am being bad mannered now am I? Am I missing something here?

I don't think she should be paid money for being a racist. What next - a payroll for pedofiles and murderers?
Emily is a revolting, stuck-up racist who thought she was better than everyone else. Good ridance to her - I wont be buying anything with her face in it. Her face makes me SICK.

i think we all have our own views on what emily said but why don't everybody jus agree to disagree, i think its not what she said thats effecting everybody i think its society itsself and i think people need to realise that there is only one race and thats the human race and we are all equal and members of it. this is why there is no peace between whites blacks asians and i dont think there will be untill people realise that we are all the same except in colour. and i think for the magazene shouldnt single her out but put issues out there that is effecting all races.

Agreeing to disagree is a very respectable way to continue m_b_s!
We all have our own opinions and that is not the question here.
Heat are paying Emily a lot of money I suppose? We have no details as to if she is giving it to charity or if she is keeping it? Whatever!
If you were being offered a large some of money to talk to a magazine after you had just lost the chance of winning a large sum of money on a TV show, what would you do?
Don't say you would turn down the offer because that would be a lie in most people's cases.
It will be another case of agreeing to disagree here as well because we may all have differing opinions. I don't like it but that's life I suppose.
But ont thing - I will NOT be buying Heat this week!

i hope shes giving it to charity! shes this weeks news as soon as anutha housemate is booted out she wont even be mentioned again shes had her 15min of fame and im sick of hearing about her, i wont be buying heat either how much does that girl want to explain or excuse for what she did she said it thats it like i said everybody agrees to disagrees but what can you do

I have just bought Heat magazine and there is no interview with Emily, there's just a transcript of when Emily used the word, a page about Charley's reaction, what happened the rest of the day & what we saw in the diary room. Then there's just a bit at the end saying she went to a hotel and had dinner with her family nothing new at all.

That's kinda what I got from the advert....I didn't think it would be an Interview with Emily, as she's keeping a low profile due to stupid people thinking she is racist.
and to answer the original question, I would like to see her story, and if she gets paid for it, good for her, she made a mistake (as most of us here know) and I think she should be allowed to defend herself against claims that she's a racist.
like the big guy once said. "He who is without sin, may cast the first stone"
I don't normally use those type of quotes.....

Heat magazine will be one of many magazines & Newspapers which will tell a story about Emily's situation in the BB house & the (N) word she said.
I think that she should pocket every penny that the magazines & newspapers offer her.
Why not?
If BB can show the full-uncut episode for everyone to see & containing the (N) word which Emily did say, then why should Emily give her money to charity.
I say, *****em...
Emily must keep the money, as she only said the (N) word in the spirit of how we all saw it.
Emily has explained this, in depth...

I saw the advertisement too - "What really happened" - uh, we all saw what "really" happened

LOL exactly!!! We know what she is *spits*, we don't need a damn magazine to try and twist it around in her favour.
We all saw it, uneditted. :xyxwave:

As I said before, Emily has just lost a large amount of money so no doubt she will try and gain as much as possible.
I don't like the girl. My decision was made before she uttered the so called racist/non racist/ignorant/non ignorant word (your decision) and based purely on instincts.
As the show on live feed and highlights, this went on to show me that I was right to trust my instincts.
I will not read Heat mag this week as I knew it was only going to be the rubbish interview (it always is). Wait until next week when they give you the juicy bits if that is really what you want.
Charley will get her big pay out in a few weeks time when she is booted out and everyone will rush to read that. They will both have their own sides to it and Channel four will claim to know the truth and both will claim it was edited.....So what is the truth?
Was it ignorance or racism
Who really knows because we are not privvy to the whole scene as we were not there.
