Weirdly, I feel like this would be The Matrix if the sequels had been better but the flaws in the overall series takes the shine off the first movie. It heavily influenced action cinema for years and you can still see "matrixisms" to this day, which makes it stand out as real movie history, even if others on the list are objectively better movies overall.

True, the first one was so good, the last two spoiled it a bit although I have to say watching the 2nd and 3rd multiple times does improve them a bit

The third one, the action scenes in Zion are good but the Matrix stuff is meh. And (like most people) I think the ending was pretentious and not very satisfying. I see a lot of people saying it was too complicated / confusing but I actually think the opposite is true. It's really overly simple but they go out of their way to make it seem more complicated than it is, and it doesn't land well.
