So I was bored and going through old Big brother arguments and came across this one. While Maxwell was staring and intimidating Kemal through the window, he muttered ‘******’ under his breath

For those who missed what the thread means, it's hard to translate whether he's saying the slur or saying "Found it" when finding his shirt

I've played it in slow motion and it looks like he really does say the word. Wow.

It’s 2006, times were different then. It was not seen as that offensive then and was in people’s vocabulry. Anthony called Derek Maltese’s head also.

People said what ever they wanted then, and it may be wrong and offensive, but it was mainly just thoughtless words as everyone was doing it

It was a disgusting thing to say but I do kinda agree with this. Back then people would say these comments and tbh it wouldn’t really come across as offensive. That’s not to say it’s right to say these things to anyone, it’s awful behaviour.

I always thought Sam in BB7 a year later had it the worse when it came to these types of comments it was horrible to see that.

The only BB6 housemate who should be allowed to say ****** is Orlaith

He used it in a different argument though I'm sure - think he called Anthony one or something when they had a disagreement

I remember him calling Anthony that word when he locked Maxwell in the toilet and then they started throwing water with the toilet brush holders but I think he said it in more of a jokey way. I don’t remember him saying it in a disagreement with Anthony though?

Difference is, some groups now think they're entitled to be privileged by being exempt from offence.

I bet you you could go through that series and find some offensive things that Kemal said about Maxwell. But Maxwell is fair game to be offended.

It's in the beginning :skull:

It is however an iconic argument and another example of how easily Science shut down that prick .

Maxwell is vile, and a lot of the things he says are terrible and bigoted, but because he does it in a cockney geeza fashion then it's fine, apparently.

I've said before and I'll say again, you can totally see the difference in Big Brother's tolerance level pre and post Shilpa. If the stuff Shilpa faced was SOOOO wrong (and it was, but I mean wrong enough for Big Brother to clamp down on bullying and offensive names), then jeez, a LOT of past housemates faced worse and yet BB never acknowledged that.
