Probably the insect world.
I find it really unnerving.

Think it stems from as a child, a neighbour said, imagine if insects were the size of us or bigger, we'd be wiped out.

I don't think I've ever got that thought out my subconscious.

Only one, and its a ridiculous one really. I am scared of vomit. Be it me ill, or someone else..I shake ike **** and get basically rooted on the spot, unabl to lok away but really not wanting to look..also am VERY OTT about germs/bugs so the whole house uses sanitizer regularly too

As you can imagine, fear of sick and having 2 young children..is a bad match really!

Seagulls(especially when it's the breeding months) they fly right at you from high with their beaks open and keep swooping until you have gone away. Where I live they are huge and really scary I have to walk so fast down the street if they start. In May I decided I'll start having a 5.30am jog every morning. I did it once and I got chased by about 3 seagulls so it put me off doing it again although now breeding season is over I might start again

Also wasps, which isn't good as when they fly around my kids I freeze on the spot. Although wafting them away might encourage them to sting I suppose.

But now my fear has passed on to the kids as if a fly comes near them they scream wasp and run away so they must be inheriting my phobia

Has he or she ever escaped?

:joker: No she hasn’t but I have forgot to put the lid back on her tank before now for a good hour or two but she’s chill and just stays put.

When I give her house a clean I just let her wander around the living room though!

Just reading this is making me anxious  I could imagine on Halloween if you were to have a party and just let her wander the living room, just blending in with the Halloween decorations and people would be none the wiser :joker:

Oh just thought of another, though not quite a phobia as such..as I don't act irrational as such around them...but those suicidal moths, the giant ones that fly at your face over and over instead of going mad at lights! My grandma used to live in the countryside and her house was sooo hot constantly, and evynight I had to decide between being divebombed by moths the size of plates, or feeling like I was dying inside a volcano. Not good.

I have to look up the bloody names of them every time a thread about them is created

Megalophobia [fear of large objects, google it and it'll sound less daft :p] and thalassophobia [fear of being stranded at sea/encountering things in the ocean].

Spiders too but that's just obvious. Never had a problem with snakes :smug:

Clowns {shudder}

I don't understand why people fear clowns , I've never found them scary :conf: .
I guess now there's a niche for demonic ugly killer clowns in horror movies, so obviously people will find them scary  . But in general I either find clowns silly or just odd/ eccentric.

I don't get it either but my Great Aunt (she's 90) has been TERRIFIED of them her whole life. There's one in particular that used to be on TV decades ago, like a comedy/variety act that she said used to make her leave the room in terror (when she was like 40/50!!)

My best mate also nearly cried watching IT just when Pennywise was on the screen, not even doing anything "scary".

i kept having this really awful dream about clowns like it was really ****ed up (i was a kid at the time) so it made me fear them and it got worse after each dream nnn but i got over it but i was quite nervous seeing IT i didn't want that to trigger it off again  but i dealt with it.

How peculiar :puzzled: , it just feels like it's a fear that's more hyped up now with killer clown pranks and crazy clowns in horror movies.

The original Pennywise played by Tim Curry was actually hilarious to me :joker:, there were moments that were creepy but him as the clown with his one liners and his silly antics just made me LOL rather than fear him.

I know in the new IT movie they've made it darker.
