For the first time ever I had a female driver, a nice lady from Botswana and must I say she made me the most comfortable I've ever been in any Uber/Taxi service and we chatted about her home country and the weather and places we would both like to visit.
I wish there were more people like this woman around gbh as she is a natural at making people feel comfortable

I've never had a female taxi driver, I imagine it could be quite intimidating for a woman though. It's not like driving a bus where there will be a door between you and any attackers, they'll be in your car and in reach of you.

There used to be a female only firm near me. They would take both male and female passengers but all the drivers were ladies. They were really successful and it was nice for girls going home alone after a night out to have the option but, the original owner died and her hubby took over and hired male drivers so they just became like any other firm but they do still have ladies driving for them

In the republic of Ireland? Awful goady today Parm, bit too blatant for me to get drawn in though
Ireland don't allow Uber because of taxi regulations/protecting taxi drivers etc

That's what I mean..I know a lot of the black cabs I Ireland are ran by the IRA...or were..
So you can think my simple question is designed to goad you but you would need to be relevant enough to.me to want to goad you...you ain't and never will be...
Any other Irish care to answer my simple question?
Is it because the ira have a concern in the taxi firms..?..or is it that the Irish just don't fancy the idea of being ferried about by foreigners.

You can't prove you're not trying to goad someone by goading them again in the next sentence.

Why does Uber mean you're going to be "ferried around by foreigners" :laugh2: There are lots of non Irish Taxi drivers here
Also, there are no Black cabs in ROI

There are quite a few around here. One owned by a woman and she's really lovely.
Concur with Niamh that the US has more female Uber drivers though. When we were in California a few years ago in the day it was mostly women and at night younger men.

I’ve only ever had guy Uber drivers but I’ve only taken Uber a few times before. I get more female drivers for deliveries though (still more males than females but kinda close to even probably)
We have quite a few female taxi drivers, not uber though.

That would be great tbh, no doubt it would be stalked and abused as being 'sexist' but there is a very good reason why women would feel more comfortable with a woman driving them home on nights out tbh...so **** the complainers.

Didn't know that. But I'm not trying to goad you...:conf:
So it's more the opposite of what I'm saying?
The Irish want to protect its current private taxi firms...That's rather honourable..
