View Full Version : Britney Spears singles ranked 39-1
okay I love literally every song so this list is more of a rough guideline.. its also purely my opinion.
I've not included Anticipating or Outrageous as they weren't really proper singles.

Make Me... 2016 (Glory)
The only single from Britney that I've truly disliked.. its long, boring, G-Easy is very unnecessary and compared with the rest of the album its one of, if not THE worst song.

Perfume 2014 (Britney Jean)
Not a bad song.. but not one of the best from the album. She looks great in the video but apart from that its just a very boring song and it got 0 promotion.

Dont Let Me Be The Last To Know 2001 (Oops I Did It Again)
My least favourite of her early career. Never liked that weird noise at the beginning that plays throughout. The video is great though and it was the first time she really started to look more grown up. Her voice is amazing too, I love when she does her more natural voice, its a shame the production ruins the song.

Ooh La La 2013 (Smurfs 2 soundtrack)
So bad but so good! Her iconic acting in Crossroads clearly paid off in the oscar worthy performance she gives at the start of the video!

Boys (ft Pharrell) 2002 (Britney)
Its a lowkey bop but not one of her best. Nowhere near the production of Slave 4 U, which was also produced by Pharrell. Also it acted as the song for the second Austin Powers movie which I never really got but whatever..

Scream and Shout 2013 (whatever will.i.ams album was)
At the time this was a huge BOP but it hasn't aged great and sounds very dated just 6 years later (as does much of will.i.ams stuff) but regardless it was a huge hit at the time.

My Prerogative 2004 (Greatest Hits)
It's a nice song and I like the video but the fact that it stopped another song from In The Zone being released is a criminal offense. Plus its a cover song..

I Love Rock N Roll 2002 (Britney)
Iconic and amazing etc etc but I've always thought it lacks a big ending on the final chorus.. its a bit damp. and another cover.

3 2009 (Singles Collection)
Its a good song but I usually forget it even exists. her extensions look awful in the video too, did no one think to say anything at the time?

Radar 2009 (Blackout & Circus)
For some contractual reason, Radar was put on Circus and released as a single towards the close of the era. Its a good song and one of the best on Blackout but the fact it was released 2 years after the album even came out and as a last ditch single from Circus was underwhelming.

Slumber Party 2016 (Glory)
Her most recent single and one of the best videos in her recent career. Its a good song and she looks amazing, but there are far better songs on the album that deserved to be released.

Hold It Against Me 2011 (Femme Fatale)
A great lead single for the album that went to #1 in America. The video tells a story about her life in the media (even though she does look raggedy at times) but overall it doesn't quite compare the the rest of the singles from the album.

Pretty Girls 2015
This song just popped out of nowhere back in 2015 probably trying to cash in on the Iggy hype from back then, but its a good song and I remember requesting it all the time at the uni clubs :skull:

Someday (I Will Understand) 2005 (Chaotic EP)
A very underrated song! and arguably the last single released from the 'old britney' era.

Criminal 2011 (Femme Fatale)
Possibly the most sexual video shes ever done, shes basically having sex in 2/3 different scenes. Its a great song and didn't deserve to flop!

Womanizer 2008 (Circus)
Seen as a comeback from the comeback back in 2008, this single showed everyone that Britney could still manage a big hit despite everything going on.

I Wanna Go 2011 (Femme Fatale)
A certified BAWP that carried on her string of successful singles in the Femme Fatale era. The mickey mouse tshirt is very H&M 2010 but who doesn't love a humble queen..

Do Somethin' 2005 (Greatest Hits)
somewhere between Toxic and Gimme More, we got this iconic bop. Its also a favourite of Britneys and has been performed on every tour since its release and even throughout the entire run of her Vegas residency.

If You Seek Amy 2009 (Circus)
Mums across america were seething when their kids were singing this back in 2009, our Brit only managed to sneak the words F-U-C-K me onto the radio :clap1:

Sometimes 1999 (Baby One More Time)
Her second single and still one of the best. While it sounds a bit dated nowadays it still has that millennium pop sound to it and it was good wasnt it, lets face it /rachel

Im A Slave 4 U 2001 (Britney)
One of her most iconic singles, it helped her progress from teen pop to a more mature sound. The sunset theme of the video is a holiday mood.

Circus 2008 (Circus)
The follow up to massive hit Womanizer, Circus has always lowkey been the better song.

Till The World Ends 2011 (Femme Fatale)
The biggest bop from Femme Fatale! Our Brit had us all thinking the world really was gonna end!

From The Bottom of My Broken Heart 1999 (Baby One More Time)
*wipes tears* what a beautiful meaningful ballad.. Adele wishes she had this sort of emotional material on her albums! the sunflowers are iconic tbh
