Which one is the one where you can purchase the games from the store and don't have to pay 50 quid a game and which has the best games?

PS have the best games because of their exclusives, both systems have a subscription service (you have to pay for) to have access to games you don't have to buy, both give out free games every month. I have both but my xbox is only there to collect dust.
I'd pick ps4 every day of the week.

Lmao. I went a bit overboard last year because it was my first Xmas having a boyfriend. It won't be a regular occurrence.

Okay just bought my PlayStation with 20th anniversary dual shock controller  loved my PS1 as a kid! So do I get PS+ or Now? I don’t think I’m the kind of person who likes to play multiple games at once, I like to get through one at a time.

PS Now will allow you to choose through a huge library of older PS games, P1/2/3/4. PS Plus is something you'll need to online game, get a couple free games a month, and discounts on certain games from the PS Store.
If you play coop, online etc then PS Plus is essential. If you just want to play through some of the old/modern classics then PS Now is for you. For me It's PS Plus as i am currently addicted to Red Dead Redemption Online. However if you can afford both then go for it.

However you don't 'need' either, you can just buy games and play as you go :-)

I'd always advocate for PlayStation + gaming PC. Games look and run best on PC and are significantly cheaper (*cough*) but the quality of single-player PlayStation exclusives is extremely high; MANY of my favourite games are PS exclusive.
Xbox exclusives are always available on PC these days so if you have a PC they're literally pointless .

Game streaming is trash, I wouldn't bother with PS Now (or any other game streaming service). PS+ is worth the subscription for the free games alone (you get a couple of new ones every month), and you also need it to play online. But if you aren't interested in the free games or multiplayer you don't need either.

We got a PS4 recently and I love it. I wouldn't prefer anything else. I had an XBOX 360 in the past and it was kinda lame.

Playstation has far better exclusives. There's no real reason to own an X1 aside from a few rare exclusives.

Yeah when I looked into it the Xbox was like a more cheap and tacky version of the PlayStation and more suited to teenagers. I知 looking forward to start playing but I知 stressing out that I値l never find the time

I'm personally a bigger fan of Xbox. It just feels more polished to me and I am more interested in their available games (e.g Forza Horizon) than PlayStation games.
Although, I have a lot of memories with PlayStation from when I was younger. We used to have one in our apartment at Tenerife and I would always play the Spongebob Squarepants: The Movie game. I never completed it because the games never saved so I always started from the beginning every time I played. My Dad also used to have old Sonic game collections on his PlayStation too, so I have more nostalgia towards that than Xbox, but overall prefer Xbox nowadays.

I've just got a new PC - thought I would try some gaming - it's pretty confusing knowing the differences between all the CPUs and graphics cards lol.
I ended up not spending much. My main concern was that it wouldn't be too noisy, which it isn't. :hehe:
Out of interest, how much noise do the XBox One and PS4 make? I have had a few Xbox 360s, which have ranged from almost silent to like having a lawn mower running in your house.

Playstation!
We've had them all since 96 and will be getting the PS5 when it comes out.
Had an Xbox 360 about 10 years ago but was so disappointed that we swore we would never buy an Xbox ever again.
So Playstation all the way.

Some games on the ps4 pro sound as though there's a jetliner about to take off. Don't use my xbox (one s) much but never had the same noise issues.

That's just my bias showing itself. In terms of comparison between the NS, PS, and XB, I wouldn't put the NS in the same league. I'm not saying they can't have good games though, as that's the reason I use emulation software to also play games from old inferior machines.
Never played zelda, was never my thing.

I built my PC and it can be loud when it's a really warm day in summer but generally it's pretty quiet. The PS4 is definitely quieter, you can tell it's turned on but it is way more subtle than any PC.

With PC the amount of noise really depends on the quality of the case and fans, more than anything else. Decent cooling fans run pretty quietly. We're also lucky in the UK because even in summer it's never ridiculously hot, and most of the year its pretty cool. Fans have to work harder in hotter climates (assuming no air-conditioning) so hotter countries = noisier computers.
For gaming on PC the main factor is graphics card, a fairly bog standard modern desktop CPU will keep up with a decent graphics card. Obviously a better CPU / better RAM is "better" but honestly the differences are very small compared to the difference a good graphics card will make.
With graphics cards these days, even a pretty basic gaming card will run brand new games fine on medium / low settings. A card that will run on high / ultra will cost (mine was 」600 just for the card :umm2: ) BUT - because we're at the end of a console generation - most games on "low" on PC still look better than the same game on console. And will run at higher FPS.
Some games look incredible on Ultra obviously but thinking about it with my sensible head on... Honestly you stop noticing the fancy effects and bells n whistles by the time you're an hour or so into a game. Medium settings are fine and you can get a card that'll do medium for 1/4 the price.
As for console noise, I currently only have PS4 Pro and Switch. The Switch is silent, The 4 Pro... TSR is unfortunately right... It sounds like it's trying to take off.
It literally drowns out the sound from the TV (and that's with a decent sound bar) if it's next to it. I took to only using headphones for a while - then went to extreme lengths. My PS4 now lives in a cupboard at the other end of the room, with a 5m long HDMI cable running to the TV :hehe:.

Never played zelda, was never my thing.I wouldn't even compare them in terms of leagues... They're just a different thing altogether. Like a switch isn't really an "alternative" to the other consoles / PC... It's more something that you would ALSO get if you want one. I have one (or rather, technically, my kids have one that they never use...) and I've enjoyed the games I've played on it (mostly Smash Bros), but I definitely don't consider it a "real" console.
I'll use it a lot more in a few years when it inevitably gets cracked wide open for emulators.
