I can’t comment on Vaughan (or Karen really as I barely remember her era) but Michael was appalling, I did like Rachel but I think the appeal more of her era at the time is the storylines/other characters as opposed to her.

It was hard to pick between Jack and Rachel, but I went with Rimmer due to liking his tough guy persona. He was a force to be reckoned with and that's something all the headteachers after him lacked.

Even bullies like Lewis Seddon were afraid of him. Earl Kelly would've behaved like a good boy had Rimmer been around.
