TiBB Music Festival: Gold Coast 02
22 & 26 October 2019

Official Wikia: Click Here! (https://channel-tibb.fandom.com/wiki/TiBB_Music_Festival_02)

It is time to let the competition begin again! I, with Shaun's knowledge AND Riley's (Wizard) lovely ideas, decided to create a spiritual successor to TiBB Eurovision. Then in August, we had our first edition in Pittsburgh. Cut to now, and well... now boarding a one-way flight to the Gold Coast! What songs will be heard? Where are the constant translations into French? When will the madness end? No idea.

FORMAT
The format of the TiBB Music Festival will remain similar to TiBB Eurovision, however, there are some changes. For the first time, I will have a Spotify playlist of all of the songs for you to listen to the songs during the 4 day voting period. For the voting, there will also be 2 sets of points (just like TiBB Eurovision), however, everyone will be sending 2 sets of 1-8, 10, and 12 points (one for jury voting, one for televoting).

RULES
- If you want to take part, reply to this thread with the country you want! But please, if you do reserve a country, I expect an entry.
- In a change from TiBB Eurovision, participants can now choose a song that is already in the public database (look on Spotify or YouTube, there are plenty of songs on either one).
- Lyrics, an artist name, song title AND music video are all that's required.
- Members may only represent one country.
- Entries must be submitted to me as soon as possible. The event itself will take place on a Tuesday evening and the results will follow on a Saturday of the same week.
- And for the first time since Globalvision, countries that are not in Europe or Australia will be able to participate.

You have as much time as you need to find your entries. Please find songs that we all may enjoy, and please don't feel afraid to take part The more entries, the more fun it is to run. Songs can be about anything you like, and whilst we are fairly liberal with what is deemed "in good taste" obviously a song containing 30 different death threats may well find itself lost in my inbox and doomed never to enter.

The winner of this glorious festivity shall also receive a supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics this lovely little award (which has been potentially lost in the TiBB Admin towers)! https://i.imgur.com/pCZ1tmH.png - so if that isn't motivation to bring your A-game, I don't know what is.

Before this thread was posted, South Africa submitted their song. All of the countries mentioned below will be free game (sans Denmark, because some things never change with me, South Africa due to song selection, and Barbados, because reasons).

I had made a typo in the original writing of the post. (whoops) Should be updated now.

Yes, yes I am (being the extremely nice person that I am).

Josiah.
04-10-2019, 11:49 PM
Don't be shy people, everything's alright. 7 countries with 4 confirmed songs isn't bad to start out with.

Josiah.
08-10-2019, 02:54 PM
If I receive enough entries within the coming weeks, I will bring the date of the contest forward in time.

Matthew.

I hope people are finding some fantastic songs.

Josiah.
15-10-2019, 07:08 PM
I am planning on bringing this forward to the end of this month, just so we're not waiting until Christmas to do this. Look for the updated dates in the OP and on the Wikia page.

Josiah.
15-10-2019, 07:17 PM
The new dates are 29 October & 2 November. So countries should be confirmed and song be submitted ASAP until the 28th.

Wizard.
15-10-2019, 09:51 PM
Can I change my song please?

Josiah.
15-10-2019, 11:45 PM
Yes, yes you can. But once I start making the video (only God knows when), there's no turning back.

Josiah.
16-10-2019, 07:04 PM
Ladies and gents, the final countdown to the show begins. 13 days until we "land" in the Gold Coast for the second TiBB Music Festival.

More songs and countries are expected and anticipated. I have even started beginning to select songs for even more countries (just to increase participation amongst the forum).

Only 11 participants? :(

Josiah.
17-10-2019, 07:10 PM
Well, there are 5 countries listed in the OP that now have songs but have not been chosen yet.

Albania
Algeria
Armenia
Australia
Czech Republic

EscapismIsAnotherPrison
17-10-2019, 07:18 PM
Okay, then I’ll take France.

Josiah.
18-10-2019, 12:41 AM
There are 10 countries open with songs I have chosen (due to the dates of the contest being moved forward, and due to lack of entries).

Albania - "Do te cmend" by Rovena Dilo
Algeria - "Tant de choses" by Zaho
Armenia - "Im Anush Hayastan" by Iveta Mukuchyan
Australia - "Running Cold" by Jai Waetford
Czech Republic - "Lovers Do" by Lenny
Luxembourg - "Butterfly" by Alex Uhlmann
Malta - "Cannonball" by Ira Losco feat. Michaela Pace
Portugal - "Solidão" by Janeiro
Serbia - "What I'm Looking For" by Nevena Božović
United Kingdom - "Sixteen" by Ellie Goulding

Choose any of these and we'll be off to a fantastic start for a second edition in a fortnight and a half.

I would have chosen Japan, but that doesn't seem to be on the list! So instead, I'll go for China.

Oof, this is the first time that 2 people have requested the same country and have sent in a song for it too.

Since they share the same language, I have to give one of you San Marino. Look in the OP for the changes.

Matthew.
20-10-2019, 11:38 PM
I’ll just change to Germany? I have sent in my song. Let Lucas have Italy

Josiah.
20-10-2019, 11:43 PM
Matthew, don't worry about it. At least you and Lucas both sent in songs.

Just as stated by Alexis in the video, you can vote by sending me a private message. You must send in 2 sets of 1-8, 10, and 12 points (one for jury voting, one for televoting). You cannot under any circumstance vote for your own country. Please have some differences between your two sets of votes. Even if you are not participating, please still send in two sets of points.

IF you are participating and do not send in 1 or both sets of points, your points will be replaced with an aggregated result.

Voting closes at 5:00pm BT on Saturday afternoon.

Good luck to all and...

I have received the points from all of the countries not chosen by forum members, as well as the points from Denmark, the United States, and The Netherlands.

Keep sending in the points, you have until 5pm on Saturday.

Josiah.

Please keep voting as I really don't want to do aggregated results for most of the countries, and although it tries to keeps things fair; it does make sure that the voting results video is exciting as possible.

For this second edition, I was astonished to see a lot of countries; but extremely heartbroken by the fact that only 5 people voted. Again, a HUGE thank you to Riley (Wizard) for coming up with the idea, and thank you all for helping me make it a reality.

See you in January!

Josiah - if it’s possible could we see a quick leaderboard of what would have happened if only TiBB members voted (because you had to reconstruct votes, right)?

Doesn’t have to be a video, a quick tally would be fine.

Nicky91
27-10-2019, 10:16 AM
i'm happy with 13th place

Morgan.
27-10-2019, 10:19 AM
My other point would be - as we see a TiBB member didn’t even win the contest which could be a bit disheartening for people wanting to play in future - so maybe allowing people to participate as 2 countries would be a way to increase numbers of songs without having to autofill them?

Nicky91
27-10-2019, 10:26 AM
Morgan has somehow a point, and also would be more of a challenge for us either

to play as 2 country juries & televotes, meaning 2 sets of jury votes, 2 sets of televotes from each contestant then

and in fact i was thinking this earlier before contest started as well but i didn't say it because i was scared if it would sound silly

4th - Malta (40 points)
5th - Italy (40 points)

The 3rd edition will take place in January "in" Belgrade with some minor format changes that'll be pretty exciting.
