Anyone been watching this?

4 part series where Scarlett Moffatt and her family build a replica of her house in a Namibian village complete with running water, WiFi, and TV - and they learn the lifestyle of the Namibian people.

I screamed when they’re just walking around with their saggy tits out and were scared to death of walking up the stairs  they’re so funny

I heard about this, but I assumed it was only a one-off... I can't begin to fathom how they'd stretch the premise "Scarlett Moffatt teaches an African tribe what a microwave is" across four episodes

Luckily she hasn’t taught them how to use a microwave yet, so there’s still plenty of time to squeeze it in

All that’s been taught so far are stairs, dishwashers, mirrors and washing machines. There’s a house FULL of items left to discover!

When Scarett’s Dad’s hobby was detecting metal and the tribe leaders hobby is leaving his wife at home whilst he goes out shagging :joker:

I think you'll find the term is "colonial chic".

I did think that before watching - but actually it’s not what I was expecting. The tribal people aren’t at all jealous or desperate for the lifestyles the Moffatts have, and instead proving they don’t need any mod cons to survive.

I saw the advert and thought it seemed super insensitive to put a middle class british house next to a poverty stricken tribe lol? I’m sure they’ll keep the house afterwards which makes it kinda ok but like get stuck in or don’t bother surely?!

It makes perfect sense. Where food is scarce being fat is a sign of wealth and wellbeing

They deconstructed it because all the furniture was taken straight out of the Moffatts house I think but they left a water borehole for the tribe and will be maintaining it for them.

I loved the first episode! Seeing their reaction to things like a mirror and stairs was fascinating

This is not the lifestyle of the NAMIBIAN people.

This is a specific tribe, the Himba people, I have met a few of them in my time in Namibia and they are definitely not representative of the typical Namibian person.

I was once of the Namibian/Botswana border with bushmen. One was showing me a plant that they use to relieve bad stomachs. He couldn't speak english and litterally spoke that lanuage where they click a lot with their mouths. Anyway to tell me about this plant he was running around making farting noises and acting having projectile diarrhoea. it was a rather bizarre moment of my life haha.
