ITV2 is getting sensationally scary this Halloween with brand new show, Killer Camp.

In this reality event, airing across five nights leading up to Halloween, 11 unsuspecting contributors will be dropped into an 80s inspired lakeside lodge where, after an explosive twist, they learn it’s not the Summer Camp they’d envisaged but a Killer Camp with a secret murderer amongst them.

The aim of the game is to earn cash whilst avoiding being killed and therefore eliminated from the game. Over five bloody nights the murderer will bump off their fellow campers in ever more extreme, hilarious and inventive ways; it’s the job of the innocents to work out who is responsible before it’s too late...

Can the innocents find the killer amongst them and walk away with a big money prize? Or will the killer remain undetected and steal their cash?

Killer Camp narrows its horror focus to 80s slashers, primarily Friday the 13th and its Crystal Lake Camp. The contestants are young and attractive and merrily gormless, and have essentially been tricked into appearing on the show, after applying to take part in a nonexistent Love Island–ish series called Summer Camp.

Their illusions are cut short when, during a fun little pedalo ride in the opening moments, one of the contestants suddenly burns to death. From there, they learn they have a murderer in their midst. One of them is a mole, and they are all in danger. Over five nights the contestants have to work to uncover the truth. If they don’t, they’ll end up dead.

It’s an intriguing premise, and one which – for the most part – manages to work. The contestants all twitch and squirm, endlessly second-guessing each other as they go through the rote reality TV machinations of gossiping and arbitrarily getting off with each other. They’re not simply voted off the show at the end of each episode, of course – they are murdered in horrible ways. To tell you how exactly would strip Killer Camp of all its fun, but the murder sequences themselves are all completely gorgeous to look at; the tinny reality TV production values of the rest of the show ramped up to grimy video nasty levels. Some of them are a little silly – you’ll never look at a nude statue in the same way again – but that doesn’t detract from how purely entertaining they are.

From the clues I think the killer is either rob, Sam, the fat camp one or the loner girl (can’t remember her name)

Loner girl stuck out due to her reaction when the first guy “died” she didn’t seem to care and had a blank expression. Plus the fact she went on to say she got on best with the first 2 people killed off makes me think she is the killer and she is making it known she was close to them so wouldn’t kill them to cover it up. Probably wrong

Based on the clues I don’t think the killer is one of the macho/pretty people as they probably don’t have enough brain cells to know who Danny devto is. Sam is the only type I can see that being an exception too.

The format is strong enough to hold its own. The addition of ridiculous deaths and camp elements ruins it and makes it seem like the producers don’t have enough faith in the raw format.

Damn I never knew it was flopping so bad, it's a shame because it had potential but I think most of the cast are pretty bad (Eleanor, Holly, Rob and Nurry are the only good cast members) and the host is bad.

The kills have been let downs too, wish they had kept it tense and maybe filmed it steady cam style and have the killer grab them rather than impaled by a dick.

Well it was okay, I enjoyed it but I feel like they could have improved several aspects.

I liked the immunity tasks and the fact they could save a friend and most of the tasks were pretty entertaining. The setting was beautiful, looked like a proper summer camp from a Friday the 13th movie and the concept is a dream.

The cast was mostly bad, Holly, Eleanor, Warren and Nurry were the only likeable cast members and the rest were non entitys or plain boring. The clues were questionable too, they should have given the clue winners less obvious but more clues.

The deaths and the host were dire.
