[Parents who are angry that their
children are being taught about
LGBT equality have been permanently
banned from protesting outside their school,
a judge has ruled.
Anderton Park Primary School in Birmingham
has been the scene of repeated
demonstrations this year,
with those involved attempting
to argue that the lessons on
same-sex relationships
contradict their religious beliefs.
The protesters, who are Muslim,
have lined up with banners,
placards and loudspeakers
to get their point across,
prompting angry exchanges
with supporters of the school
including Labour's Jess Phillips.]

"Let Kids be Kids"
but lie to them about a vile cult, scare them that a invisible angry man is watching their every move and that if they try and escape him they will die

Maybe their energy would be better spent campaigning against FGM within their own communities.

Do you know the difference between male and female circumcision?
In the last couple of years you've spoken to me twice, both times to have a dig. I don't know what I've done to upset you, I don't even know you.

Instantly the thread becomes less about Muslims and ALLLLLLL about the Jews.

I just see you with this negative attitude about millions of people that you see as one community but I don't think that's fair at all. I have a negative attitude towards ANYONE who would make any kind of cut on a child, to me it's all horrific and I don't think that ONLY FGM should be talked about.

Well, you don't know anything about me, only what you read on here. You know nothing about my thoughts on the Muslim community, here in this country, or in the Middle East where I frequently work. So you don't know much about me either, just a bunch of assumptions you've made. If you want to talk to me, fine. But if you're going to have a dig every time, don't bother.
Cutting a boy's foreskin is often done for hygiene reasons and when they are a baby. There's extremely rarely any risk involved. And if you disagree with it, then that's fine. You are entitled.
FGM is when they hold down a young girl, with no anaesthetic, and an unqualified person cuts off her clitoris. They often use razor blades or sharpened bits of tin can and often in unsanitary conditions and infections are common. Then they sew her up so that she can only piss and bleed. All kinds of problems ensue especially with sex and childbirth and often in places where medical attention is out of the reach of most women. Over 100,000 girls in the UK have gone through this, millions worldwide. In the last year more than 5,000 girls went through FGM in the UK even though it is illegal here. Only one was prosecuted.
But hey... let's always include the boys in a discussion about FGM.

To be fair to Jess and everyone else, no one mentioned anything about jews until you made a dismissive comment about Muslim gm, which was a complete stretch as it was nothing to do with the topic at all. So gm of all descriptions became a talking point. This is where you moved the discussion to.

Well, imagine you having a problem with what I said.
I know what I said. Why are you jumping in here? Again....

Tbf, circumcision makes no difference in hygiene. Unless of course the silly boys aren't washing under their hood. :nono:

Exactly, thanks for understanding my sentiment.
I won't lower myself to responding to the drivel above.

I don't have a problem with what you said. I have a problem with you changing the direction of the topic then asking why the direction of the topic has been changed.
FGM is a huge and cruel issue that we agree upon.

I know that.
I brought up FGM and suggested the parents protesting against homosexuality being taught, should maybe concentrate on ending FGM.
Of course, the discussion turned back to Jews immediately and the fact that we circumcise boys, like there's any comparison in the two AT ALL.

I don't know what drivel you're responding to. Was it what I said about FGM? I wouldn't be at all surprised if you thought what I said was drivel.
Don't respond to me. That's fine with me... but don't pipe up and have a dig just because you don't like me. You know that all the others who have a problem with me will fall in behind you. As has happened here. Again.

And the moment I said maybe the bigots protesting should perhaps put some of that effort into combating FGM. Up pipes Jess with "Doesn't your community mutilate little boys genitals?"
Because that's exactly the same thing.
But whatever, I'm tired of having to explain my every word.

Hopefully you'll keep your dislike of the entire religion out of threads where Muslims are mentioned in future. Everyone has more important things they could be educating themselves about and figuring out ways to better their communities. It doesn't enrich the conversation to say "oh AND they do this AND they do that AND they are bad because of this".

Mind your own business Jess. I'll write what I feel, wherever I like. If you don't like it, put me on ignore. I'm doing the same... don't have to read your nonsense then. Go pick on someone who might give a ****.

I was referring to the comment about circumcision being for hygiene. I'd rather not jump into the crossed wires argument. :worry:

I wasn't having an argument, Marshy. I never am when I come on here... but it doesn't take long.

Good, those homophobes are trying to use their religion to enforce values on a state school and that should be discouraged. Religion should have no bearing on education.
As for the whole FGM thing, it's a terrible thing, no one is saying otherwise and it's a major issue but you can't complain when others make a valid comparison when you bring it up to try and group and shame a whole religion over it.
