I used to Love watching Miss World with my dad, we all picked 4 winners and then see if anyone got it right. Of course I had no idea why he liked the show (his love of Geography I later learned just like my own)

Tough one really. It's ridiculous that "mothers and divorcees" can't compete IMO, however, the whole thing existing at all is a mess and those competing know what it is.

Someone has gotten hold of the raw footage on film, rather than a recorded-from-aired version... which can then quite reliably be converted to at least 720p. Same reason some films from the 80's, if you get the BluRay version, look like they could have been filmed yesterday but others don't. The ones recorded on high quality film at the time, and have had the originals preserved, can be converted to modern standards.
