The imaginary recession is over.
The number of Americans working rose to 158,593,000 a record high. That is the sixth consecutive record high for this metric.
Jobs growth soars in November as new jobs surge by 266,000
Average hourly earnings rose by 3.1% from a year ago, slightly above the 3% expected by economists polled by Dow Jones.
“Bottom line, America is working,” Larry Kudlow, director of the National
Economic Council, told CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street.” “These are very
strong numbers. These are happy numbers, these are sunny Friday
numbers.”

Great news for Donald and disastrous news for the Democrats who are losing public support for their impeachment thing day by day.

False positive I’m afraid, more jobs are being taken because more people are having to work multiple jobs because of the cuts that are decimating the working class

The WSJ is significantly right-of-centre and is plainly not for employers, it's for traders, who will be happy if the news is good for trading purposes. And the actual accuracy of the news actually matters very little for that. A positive report on employment is good for market confidence which is good for Wall Street.

I'm not saying it's bad news or even fake news by the way, employment may well be up but I'd take the figures with a huge dose of salt... looks like stats propaganda to me. Neither hourly earnings (meaningless without knowing if there have been hours decreases) or number in employment (again, useless if we don't know if it's meaningful employment or 5 hours a week) are good measures of the employment situation in a country.
I'd want to see stats on the number in full-time employment and if there's been an increase in average household income, personally.

But also well trusted CNBC
if you are forced in to employment for $1 a week, it doesn't mean a lot. One needs to see all the relevant data

A low rate of unemployment means little when a huge number of working class families in the US are on the poverty line or below it despite working full time.
It's like when the Tories bragged about unemployment rates during the rise of zero hour contracts, it doesn't matter if you are employed if your job cannot support you. Figures like this are only meant to placate the gullible and the ignorant.

Providing more jobs is still the first step in helping families in poverty. Maybe they're all minimum wage jobs, idk the details, but still without MORE jobs first and foremost, how else are they supposed to get help for work? The main other thing I can think of is raising minimum wage (which coincides with slightly higher rates in general), and min wage actually has been rising quite a bit across the states in the last few years. I can't speak for every state as it varies and I'm pretty sure NJ has one of the highest increases in minimum wage rates (from $8.50 to $10 to $11 next month) but from what I understand the minimum wage is increasing as a whole across the country and will only continue to... supposed to get up to $15/hr within a couple years in many states.

If even trained professions like teaching require a second job to support it then you know the system's broken. It's not just minimum wage jobs that are not sustainable. Stats like this are meaningless if people still can't support the costs of living without multiple jobs.
Given that anything that helps the poor is shut down as 'EVIL SOCIALISM!' by the republicans, I think the crawl towards liveable nationwide wages will be a slow one. I don't think a wage boost in the future will do much to comfort families that are struggling now.
