View Full Version : The Apprentice 2019 Week 11 - Interviews (11th Dec 2019 - Wednesday BBC1 9PM)

Calderyon
10-12-2019, 11:19 PM
The final five candidates are summoned to 70 St Mary Axe, otherwise known as the Can of Ham, a spectacular new 21-storey building in the heart of the City of London.

They face the scrutiny of Lord Sugar’s most trusted advisors, who are primed to pick apart their business plans. Each candidate goes head to head with the business bigwigs as they battle to back their plans. There’s tough talking, turmoil and tears as bravado breaks, egos are eradicated and business plans bulldozed.

In the boardroom it’s Lord Sugar’s chance to give them a grilling, as only two can progress to the final while the rest are told, 'You’re Fired!'

Lottie vs Carina would be a good final 2 outcome.

Lottie <3

Two more tasks? I thought interviews were in tomorrow's ep?

Oh does it mean the interviews are one task, and the big project with everyone is the second?

Scarlett vs Lottie final 2 i think

i mean promo of scarlett's business plan being called woeful means nothing so i can still see being in final 2 and winning

Surely Lewis and Pamela are definitely out?

Both had major plummets in their interviews.

Jason.
11-12-2019, 09:26 PM
Linda just dragging their businesses and telling them the interview is over before they have a chance to respond :skull:

Matthew.
11-12-2019, 09:28 PM
Linda reminds me of Piers Morgan in that she doesn’t let anybody get a word in

Matthew.

Calderyon
11-12-2019, 09:38 PM
Will be surprised if Lewis or Pamela make it.

Calderyon
11-12-2019, 09:40 PM

I wasn't prepared for Lottie being fired straight away

Matthew.
11-12-2019, 09:51 PM
I like all 3 that are left. Hope Carina stays though

Barry.
11-12-2019, 09:51 PM

I think it was kind of obvious because of alan starting a feud with him on twitter the other week:laugh:

Calderyon
11-12-2019, 09:53 PM
No matter which of the three get to the final 2.

Jason.
11-12-2019, 09:55 PM

11-12-2019, 10:22 PM
I suspect Lottie won't be back in the final task.

Oliver_W
11-12-2019, 10:39 PM
Lottie's business idea was probably the best tbh, wish I had somewhere to farm my female relations off to occasionally <3

Marsh.

This just sums up the fundamental flaw with this show.

Taking one look at Lottie's business plan (although stupid to pretend they didn't see them until the final 5 were decided), realising she had no clue and no actual figures, her business wasn't viable (who didn't see that coming?) thus rendering her ten week stint completely and utterly pointless.

Just go back to giving the winner a job ffs. This investment nonsense doesn't work with the show's format.

Yes, it's a reality show, but the final 2 weeks are a completely separate process from the preceding 10 weeks of tasks.

"Let's sack the guy who might have an awesome business because some **** up led all the ice lollies to melt in task 2, but keep the girl who won by accident despite not having a business plan at all and no hope of winning anyway!" Yes, it's an entertainment show but it's useless. :joker:

If they pass her posh test.

And, as Sugar pointed out, not a very viable business when her clientele is such a slim margin of people.

Not to mention she will single handedly run 96 events a year. :joker:

Marsh.
11-12-2019, 11:24 PM
As for the interviews, the bloke with the specs was a pretentious joke. Sitting there in complete ignorance of them, putting on his little performance before acknowledging them.

Very funny with him slyly testing out Pamela and Carina's businesses but what a berk.

And Linda, good grief. :joker:

The other woman just seemed interested in asking them how they are like a therapist.

Marsh.
11-12-2019, 11:29 PM
Pamela continuing the "innovator", "not like any other" lines after Linda has just exposed her as selling expensive cotton buds. :joker:

Marsh.
11-12-2019, 11:31 PM
"Pamela thank you for wasting two months of your life, but you only have 2 products!"

So why accept her anyway.

Marsh.
11-12-2019, 11:35 PM
Omg and Carina, my god, her inability to stop saying the word "massive" reminded me of one of the very first interviews I had at 18 and I kept saying the word "alright". :laugh2:

Claudine was so soft this year! I suppose she had no other choice considering 4/5 of the candidates went in there crying.

I feel that this was the weakest set of business plans we've seen in years. Lottie had no figures so it rendered her entire business plan useless. Pamela's entire plan banked on the success of newly released products which also had competitors on the market. And Alan Sugar hit the nail on the head when he compared Lewis' business plan to a pipe dream. He lost it for me when he admitted he had never visited Croatia.

Scarlett and Carina's proposals aren't perfect but their biggest obstacle was the prospect of scale-ability. I suppose they were simply just the best of a very weak bunch.

When it comes to a tv show, headhunting is a rather boring business. I liked Pamela's story of how she went to the editor in chief and told her that the nails on the cover were crap :joker: A business presentation about beauty products would make better TV than a recruitment one, but I guess it depends how much preference is given to entertainment value vs profitability for Lord Sugar.

Overall, how nice is it to have a deserving top 2! They're so going at each other's throats next week, this is going to be good, I'm into it!

No way will Sugar back a cafe business over a recruitment/headhunter business. He'll get his money back within 2 years max.

Also I think Lottie won't be in the last task, gathering she has been banned from all spinoffs and giving exit interviews apparently.

I think I remember seeing Lottie in the promo for next week. I don't think the controversy came to light until way after the season wrapped filming.

Epic.
