I don't know why they bother bleeping it any more I have heard 5 year olds using it. It used in households around the country and it's only going to get worse. The word really has no meaning any more.

Kids at school use the language all the time because their parents do. I could come over all sanctimonious here and actually will and tell you how this mother was walking down the path with her little kidlets, one in a pushcair, one toddler, one in infants, one in juniors and they were all 'effing' at each other. I stuck my nose up in the air and grabbed my little Tarquin and jumped into my Volvo 4x4 and wizzed home ready for Blue Peter when oh no!!!!!:nono::bigsmile:

It is all about todays society I'm afraid.

I am afraid you are right about it being todays society. I wish someone could convince Ofcom that all they are doing is trying to shut the stable door after the horse has bolted...

As a result of Ofcom being out of touch with reality we get pointless censorship. People are adults and can censor themselves and their children with todays pin number contols which can be changed at any time they think the kids may have discovered what it is............

When can the f-word go un bleeped? What are the rules here people!!!

This 'f' word will lose it's meaning as a swear word. In a few years time it won't even be a swear word, because it's used so much. Saying "I've lost my *******ING cat" will be like saying "I've lost my DAMN cat".

The watershed for the "F" word is 9pm. However Ofcom being the bunch of jokers they are say that using bad language very early after 9pm is not desirable. In other words the broadcaster has to read Ofcoms mind as to how often and how late a swear is spoken.......To many strong words to early could get them in trouble.

What makes matters even more stupid is the guys at Ofcom actually get paid for producing broadcasting codes that are the work of little more than morons.......

If you have the patience to read the garble they call a broadcasting code then go to the Ofcom web site and enjoy a good laugh or cry depending on your sense of humour..............

Defeating the swear word filter by using similar sounding or spelt words is not looked on favorably by the Moderators or the Admin Team and repeated offenses can lead to a warning.

As long as it's post 9pm I'm not bothered, although my parents get well annoyed if they hear it used repetitively and unneccessarily (Charley).

Well America is certainly different. We can't even use the F word on television.

Well you guys have a large portion of Christian Fundamentalsts. I still can't get over the "implosions" about Janet jackson showing a nipple at the superbowl a few years ago.

Hey Red :)

I'm interested to know, in light of your view above why it's censored here. Even to the extent of using clothes shops like FCUK as substitutes to get around the filter?

I know my 11 year old is terrible.......:nono::rolleyes:

No in all seriousness I wonder if the amount of swearing depends on your age, where you live or even your social status? OR is this an image that is only portrayed in the media?

It’s the Swiss army knife of swearing though useful for all occasions, even getting little stones out of horses’ hooves.
