Is this based on views? I find it hard to believe After Life was watched more than Stranger Things.

Witcher's only been out for 10 days. Not sure the top 10 makes a lot of sense tbh.

it makes a lot of sense, i watched it start to finish :smug:

Also, at this time, new releases have a captive audience of people on holiday

I'm enjoying it, I'm just saying that it seems impossible that things that have been on for less than 2 weeks could have many more views than things that were released early in the year so have been there for 9, 10+ months .

Although you're right about the timing, binge-watching season I guess. I'd imagine their viewing numbers go up significantly in winter in general with the long dark evenings.

I’ve literally only watched 1 and 10. This is WRONG.

I've only watched The Witcher and Stranger Things out of that list.

The Witcher was fantastic imo, especially as the season goes along.

More people in the UK need to give Dark Crystal and Mindhunter a go, both are fantastic shows imo.

I looked it up for an explanation; apparently they can fairly accurately project overall views from early viewing figures so the list isn't actual views, it's views over a set period of time "normalised" as though all of the shows have been out for the same amount of time.

Which I guess makes sense, or they'd either have a "top 10" full of shows that came out early in the year, or they'd have to delay by a year to get a full year's figures for each show.

"Seventy-three million households around the world have made The Crown part of the global cultural zeitgeist," Sarandos said.

On Tuesday, Netflix also announced that new fantasy drama The Witcher was watched by 76 million households in its first month. The show, about a mutated monster hunter, gave Netflix its best result yet for a first-season original TV series.

Meanwhile, the second season of You was watched by 54 million households, and Michael Bay's action thriller film 6 Underground, starring Ryan Reynolds, was seen by 83 million.

Netflix has previously revealed viewing data for Orange is the New Black reached 105 million homes over its first six seasons.
