This is not the war
but Tragic accident, it appears.
[Everyone on board a Ukrainian Boeing 737 died when it crashed shortly
after take off from Iran's main international airport,
according to Iran state television.
Iran's official news agency IRNA said there were at least
170 people on the plane when it came down due to technical problems
after leaving the Imam Khomeini airport in Tehran en route to Kiev.]

Horrific timing, I hope it really is nothing to do with Iran/USA (even if it was an accidental kneejerk response on either part). Also hope it's nothing to do with Russia using an opportune moment to put further pressure on Ukraine.
...the seconds it took for the plane to fall must have felt like a lifetime to those on board, those poor people...horrific......

yes usually accident investigation boards don't reveal theories/findings immediately but now to prevent more drama, with the Iran/USA conflict, to rule out terrorist attack
i guess it is a good choice to do it differently this time

It sounds like an engine caught fire but one wonders if the airport it took off from is distracted with everything else going on in Iran, and it lead to someone or multiple people missing a problem with the aircraft?

The Iranians have found the Black boxes,
But will not give it to Boeing
as Boeing refuse to allow Iran to buy parts
for their planes.
Due to the Sanctions.
Of Course they get the parts
in the end, from a 3rd nation seller
who can charge high prices.
It passed all its tests just 2 days ago..something smells if you ask me..
I know coincidences happen, but this one is to suspicious to think accident.

OK so it was probably shot down by one or the other by accident (mistaken identity) but they've agreed that that wasn't an intended part of the narrative so it was engine failure OK?? I'm choosing to accept the comfortable lie because there's enough going on.

That's what I'm telling myself Nicky... there's panic and confusion in Iran at the moment (especially places like airports) and someone dropped the ball.
Otherwise, it really does seem too much like a coincidence and was probably a military error of some sort.

Worth mentioning that the FAA have instructed civilian aircraft not to fly over the region specifically because of the risk of being mistaken for military. Just sayin'...

TBF there's more than one a week, they're just more widely reported if there's other stuff going on so they seem more rare than they are.
Although to put THAT in perspective... there are over 1 million commercial flights a week so 2 major crashes a week is actually tiny in terms of risk.

It's an incredible and tragic coincidence if it wasn't shot down, I expect it was shot down though, the timing is far too suspicious.
Tributes have been paid to British victims who were among the 176 people that died in a plane crash in Iran.
The Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) 737-800 passenger plane crashed minutes into its journey from Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran to the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.
Emergency officials told Iran’s state television it was “impossible” that those on board the Boeing 737 – believed to comprise 167 passengers and nine crew members – survived the crash.
Three British victims have been identified as Saeed Tahmasebi, an engineer for Laing O'Rouke, Sam Zokaei, who worked for BP, and Mohammed Reza Kadkhoda-Zadeh, who ran a dry cleaners in West Sussex.

There's blame all round in this tbh. The military mis-identifying the plane and having an itchy trigger finger, both sides for playing war games in the first place / Trump with the threats that had them so riled up and reactionary... and really... the fact that civilian flights were taking off at all?? The risk of something like this was huge - flights should all have been grounded.

Mistakes have been made all round, there should be no commercial flights in such a tense situation, the US shouldn't have escalated things to this point and Iran shouldn't have had an itchy trigger finger.
I'm glad that the Iranian people are making their voices heard though and that they are getting coverage. If this was back in the early 2000's, the media would be pushing the narrative that the public would have supported the government in their actions.
