What better disguise for a spy than keeping the James Bond name and agent number, but looking completely different, it could be a great storyline imo, adopting another persons official identity because of a secret in his past that unravels over a few movies, sorted, Idris is the man for the job

Scrambling for justification and pretending this is an issue of age when older white actors have played Bond with no problems is very telling. Making it personal by trying to slate Idris Elba with personal jibes at the thought of him playing a traditionally white character is basically a silent symphony.

This isn't about him being a cheater or being old, you have a problem with him being black.

He's still one of the most popular bonds, it obviously wasn't that damaging for the franchise and given you're not saying anything about Daniel Craig being older than Idris, this is obviously about race.

James Bond hasn't been played by a Scottish person for decades and Daniel Craig is as far removed from Bond than any other actor to play him but his run is still largely acclaimed and people consider Casino Royale and Skyfall to be two of the all time great bond films. I don't see you complaining about all these other changes they've made to the character.

It's all about race and nothing more.

This is a thread asking people who they think should be Bond, there's a fair few actors who won't be asked but you aren't trying to shoot those suggestions down because they are white actors. You aren't branding those white actors with personal jibes and nicknames either, only the sole black actor suggested for the role.
