He has a new song

Something like that...
What a disgusting things to do!
My cousin and her kids almost died at that concert!

The track in question is called 'Unaccommodating', in which Eminem raps: "But I'm contemplating yelling 'Bombs away' on the game/Like I'm outside of an Ariana Grande concert waiting."

Pretty disgraceful that. Quite offensive.
He likes to be contraversial for sure.

I normally like Eminem's Music, but that is really insensitive imo.
Attention seeking like that makes me think quite lowly of him. Not that he'll particularly care lol.

Um...
You all know he frequently referenced school shootings earlier in his career too right?

That's gross. He's irrelevant now and needs colabs or controversy to get attention.

He never used to make fun of tragic events that resulted in multiple children though as far as I know. I only know a few of his songs though.
The Beyonce one, Rhi ones, Dido one etc

From 20 years ago(I'm Back) about a school shooting .............
"I take seven kids from Columbine, stand 'em all in line
Add an AK-47, a revolver, a nine
A MAC-11 and it oughta solve the problem of mine
And that's a whole school of bullies shot up all at one time
'Cause (I'm) Shady, they call me as crazy
As the world was over this whole Y2K thing"

it is a known fact that rappers, hip hop artists can be controversial with their music

It's Eminem, are people surprised?
I thought people stopped clutching their pearls over him back in the 90's.

People in this thread who are angry dont even know what pearls are as they are too young ( as a jewellery)
you need a more modern term

It's kinda funny that his song about the Las Vegas gets more of a reaction than most shootings do nowadays (which is kind of the point of the song)

I don't think that anyone is saying that he is a bad person, it's just poor timing to use a terrorist attack which didn't happen that long ago in his new song.
I get that it's his choice, but I personally just don't like seeing people making money from a recent tragedy.

He's always employed shock tactics with his music though, he's always used outrage to promote his music so giving him that outrage seems counter-productive if you oppose what he does.

This really is a new low for him. He's so irrelevant these days. Can't believe people on twitter were actually defending him.

I listen to a lot of controversial rap so I'm desensitized to it and I feel like music can be taken with a grain of salt. But if people take offense, they take offense, I'm not gonna discredit those feelings but I'm personally definitely giving Em a pass  (and a round of applause for the album in general)
Shame tho because this new album is FIRE!
I'm also a big fan soooo yeah :joker:

Fans don’t have to like, agree or defend everything that the person they like does though

I'm just desensitized to controversial lyrics in general. I'm just saying I could also be biased towards him as a big fan but I just don't think it's that big of a deal to make a shooting reference in a song. I see how people could think it's in poor taste ofc, people were and still are distraught from it, but I just take it as a lyric meant to gain attention, that "oooo **** they went there" factor in music that's particularly big in rap. :idc: It's not that I don't care about those people's feelings I just don't think it's an awful act from a singer/rapper.. like for example idc if a rapper even made a 9/11 reference and 1) that was a huge gross attack on America and 2) a relative of mine (somewhat distant tbf) died that day. I wouldn't support it like "nice lyric bro!" but I wouldn't take offense to that either. You could maybe say I'm just not offended much tho

He has displayed little to no musical growth since 1999 and yet still comes back with the same album every 3 years and dominates the charts. I don't get it. All the catchy pop songs dried up a decade ago.
that said, haven't listened to MTBMB yet

He did a chart double and become the first ever artist to have a 10th consecutive UK #1 Album

yes, it's incredibly distasteful and the families of those involved mustn't be very pleased, but it's...Eminem, a rapper. The genre is known for its controversial lyrics, so I don't get why people are so surprised.
