Its been away for 12years

[It comes after the iconic duo
resurrected the show in a special
'Little Brexit' episode for Radio 4 in October 2019.]

It will probably be a lot more watered down these days and I never found it funny first time around

Because they did a one off Radio 4
show, and because of the feedback
they are going back in TV.

Liam - Give it a chance
they have said it can not be like the 2005 series

If its Funny
why not.

They could not get away with this now, i dont know how the show will work as all they did was poke fun at minorities, trans/gay folks?

Meh, not a fan of David Walliams, Matt Lucas is pretty funny though. Can't say im interested in a Little Britain reboot. I think the show is too stupid to be considered offensive though.

I agree. It’s for At is much more universal as well and could be more easily adapted into the 2020 industry.

I loved little britain back in the day :skull:

they wont be able to get away with as much now though.. part of what made it so funny was how un-PC it was

This has no place back on TV tbh. I am positive it will flop.

I remember Matt saying a few years ago how he'd never get away with Fat Fighters nowadays, and that was one of the more tamer sketches :skull:

Fat Fighters is one of the few they probably could still get away with. It worked because Matt himself was fat, that was the joke... it was self-deprecating humour, more than mocking others.

A lot of the other sketches did cross the line between satire and outright mocking, though.

Anything to get Matt Lucas airtime. He's an underrated genius of our times.

But even the old series aged terribly. And in 2020 we are likely to just get the disgusting Walliams gags and not the good characters.

Jessica.

I don't think it's needed, they should do something else instead of bringing the old show back.

I agree with this, I like Walliams, but it’s no coincidence that most of the most memorable characters from little Britain were Matt, plus I've enjoyed most of what he has done since they split, yet most of Walliams actual tv stuff minus the book adaptations has been pretty crap tbh

Yeah Matts Characters in little britain were the most menorable...vicky Pollard. Only gay in the village etc. I had the ps2 game of little britain it was really random!

But i dont find david walliams funny at all. Did anyone else see that cinderella programme he did at christmas. I switched off half way through it was horrendous

Marsh.
22-01-2020, 08:37 PM
I agree. David is a good actor, but you do notice how much of his characters he played pretty similarly. Matt tended to completely disappear into his characters much more easily.

David had his own voice, the posh voice and the raised "lady" voice.

I never found this show funny. Once you've seen all the characters once, it's just wash and repeat in a slightly different location.
