Leading Remainers have vowed never to use or accept the government's new
commemorative Brexit 50p coin.

Approximately three million of the coins are due to begin entering circulation
on Friday as part of efforts to formally mark the UK's departure from the
European Union.

The coins, bearing the words 'peace, prosperity and friendship with all nations'
as well as the Brexit date of January 31, 2020, have sparked a furious
backlash among pro-EU campaigners.

Lord Adonis, a Labour peer who has consistently fought to reverse Brexit,
tweeted: 'I am never using or accepting this coin.'

Meanwhile, Alastair Campbell, Tony Blair's former spin doctor, echoed a similar
sentiment as he said he will ask shops for alternatives to the coin if he is
handed one in the future.

Some pro-EU social media users urged people to deface the coins with
Remainer graffiti while others advocated keeping and never spending them in
order to take them permanently out of circulation.

Are you looking forward to your Brexit 50p?

They’ve wasted countless millions on these coins and the ones they already had to scrap, there’s literally no point in them, just another vanity project for a gloating Tory party.

That being said, money is money, I’m not asking a cashier to exchange it for a different one.

Yasmin Alibhai-Brown pledges to donate every new Brexit 50p she receives to the homeless.

Nice to see that leaving the EU is already making the poorest better off.

What's she even doing in this nasty old racist country? She always has SO MUCH to complain about. She promised she was leaving if we came out of Europe. Another hope dashed...

I said in another topic that leavers would be lost if the couldn't complain about remainers because then they'd have to accept the fact that anything that happens from here on out will be on their heads, they've got no one else to blame now but themselves but you'll still get stories like this because brexiters need a diversion from thinking about the mistakes they've made.

This story is proof of that.

A story about remainers being all huffy and refusing to use a celebratory coin if given one is proof of brexiters feeling guilty about the mistakes they have made.

And they used this story about moany losers to highlight that...

Are you sure?
