I mean she has a great voice but if they send her with a bland ballad they may aswell not go.
If it's a big memorable ballad she could do well

Has Sam Bailey ever done anything other than a bland ballad or a cover? She can sing but she was so dull.

If she takes the gig on then I wish her the best of luck.
However the BBC would have to give her a song that doesn't send a message about us all joining together in peace like what we always send out at Eurovision.

Nope
It was miles better than all the useless clueless trash listed below
2019: Michael Rice
2018: SuRie
2017: Lucie Jones.
2016: Joe and Jake.
2015: Electro Velvet.
2014: Molly.:umm2:
2013: Bonnie Tyler.

2016 and 2017 were both great entries, and 2018 was decent too.
The rest were total shite though, including Engelbert.

Why the EFF are we still in the Eurovision , it's a joke :bored:.
I haven't watched it for yearssss , UK always do badly.
I remember when Andrew Lloyd Webber begged other countries to vote , that's the only year I remember us getting 5th place or something.
It's always political, doesn't matter what you sing.
You could have the best performance of the night and still get low points  .

I don't know why we still enter. I don't know why we still contribute so much money either. On Eurovision night we should have a show in the UK celebrating all the amazing music that's come from this country over the years and Eurovision can stick to it's over-produced, thirty-years-out-of-date, bong-bang-a-ding-dong euro-pop. Nein danke.
Having said that.... it's a great night for a party.

just don't take the contest too serious, UK should try sending more upbeat fun songs rather than ballads
Scooch (UK 2007) is still being talked about in eurovision forums, eurovision discord servers

we dont do well because the songs are unimaginative and rubbish and sung by kids who dont understand or believe in them

Christ. How many buzz words do you want to get in?
Funny how Portugal won in 2017 despite being the resident flops bc they sent a song that Europe got behind.

Listen Dagger , I may not be up to date with Eurovision .
But I do know that alot of crap gets votes due to history & politics. They always use to vote for their next door neighbours pretty much.
UK has had a mixture of bad ,good and average acts . Point I'm making is I don't think it matters much who sings for us or what they sing. Unless they're tone deaf like Gemini lol .

It's been very slow I'm afraid. Just that BMG are involved is still all we have. The Sam Bailey stuff came from a woman who was on the song writing team having connections with her but it hasn't been even confirmed that it is her writing the song.
As soon as I get anything solid (if it comes before an official reveal) I will mention something.

Didn't Lucie have a Funeral song to sing? I remember feeling sorry for her on that as she probably had a great chance at winning if we'd made the song more dramatic with the strong vocal that she gave on the night.
