First several websites announce that Jordan Sinnott off non-league football died before he actually did and the following day it was wrongly announced that Rick Fox despite not being even on board died in the helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant. I say journalism is dead and buried.

I don't want to open up a can of worms, but I think journalism has been dead for some time. Especially since the MJ accusations :idc:.

It's not dead but the Internet has created a clickbait culture.

The basic problem is that people are reluctant to pay for a news service, when so much is available for free. That means news sites are relying on advertising revenue, which is dependent on getting people to click on a headline.

The cheapness of news on the Internet reduces the likelihood of it being about high-quality journalism.

I mean the Guardian and the Indie are the worst at click baiting and trolling their dwindling readership and they used to be 2 proud papers

now they beg people for money to survive
