I've called the folks, they're fine and no damage. Mum was in the kitchen when she heard both of them ran outside thinking it was an explosion. Quite scayy they said.

Awww Thanks Cherie
They get high winds bordering on hurricanes every late August to mid September so I knew they'd be OK. Their house is so sturdy it'd take more than a mild quake to shake it.

Glad it's not the season my nan goes overWhen does she go over?
Right now, is the cheapest time to go. I like going this time cuz its not boiling but slightly breezy. The beaches are particularly lovely at this time of year. Clear with few tourists. incidentally, that late-August time is after Xmas the most expensive time to go.
