I went shopping to chester and there was a homeless man with a dog and I cried because I thought the dog was hungry so my mum bought the man a McDonalds and a burger for the dog and the homeless man let me feed the dog the burger. My mum always tells me that, I was sobbing outside because I thought the man and his dog would be cold

It's tragic that it's far to easy to walk right on by now without even blinking.:bawling:

Yeah it's sad really, I always give a little cash or offer food. I went to Blackpool in October and there was a woman outside a newsagent literally across the road from a kebab shop when we arrived at 10ish and at about 2am and my boyfriend asked if she was hungry and bought her chips and I asked if nobody else had offered all night and she said no, hundreds of people just walking past :(

I think I have only seen them on the telly.
No doubt I may have seen homeless people walking about and not known they were homeless.
I have seen beggars but don’t automatically assume they are homeless.

There is a homeless guy who sits outside out local Tesco, he never asks for anything as such or mithers shoppers but my son always used to ask for some money to give him....until one day he saw he smoking and he was fuming - he hates smoking and so now we always buy him a sandwich or something like that so he won't spend the money on cigs .

I just see professional beggars now when i go to Glasgow. There was a wee while ago a beggar right at the door at my local Asda so when you exited there he was about 5 foot away on the ground and i alerted the security guy who said he would deal with it, but i left so not sure if he did but he has not been back.

If he was eating out of a bin I’d say he was hungry.
Why on earth would that mean he had ADHD?

Because I believe most old school tramps have..

Vagrancy, sleeping on the streets and begging is a crime and the police arrest people for it but whant the law changed so it’s scrapped.

I don’t remember it but when i was about 18 months old this guy in our town who is sort of a local celebrity (johnny welly) got kicked out of sayers because he was screaming and shouting at me saying i kept laughing at him
And last year i was in town with my mum and he said to her “is this your son? He’s lovely isn’t he he’s like one of them angels from heaven”

In my town, a lot of the homeless people at around 6pm, call home on their iPhones and say ‘yeah it’s been a decent day but not made as much as I wanted’ then drive off in their car thats parked around the corner, and I really really wish I was joking.
It’s sad because it makes you feel uneasy about trusting people that are homeless.
That’s idiotic
Explain why!

We had an ex-Soldier and his Dog recently who was begging for money to feed his Dog, which my Nan gave him some money for it.
Sadly he passed away apparently.:(

Where’s your evidence...
I give anyone I see sat on the freezing pavement something warm to eat ..there’s always a hot dog stall or a bakers nearby .
It’s certainly not up to us to be judge and jury based on pure here say .

I’m sick of seeing false comments on forums ,quite often people saying they’re taxi drivers and they’ve picked up loads of supposed street beggars and driven them home to their detached houses with two cars out the front ....

That's quite odd considering forums are made up of comments

I’ll carry on feeding them all .. I’d rather feed one genuine guy and four fake ones than let the poor guy starve

I'm well aware of the forum rules and I'm pretty sure my post never broke any but feel free to report it and let the other mods/admin have a look.
You also edited your initial comment.

I grew up around struggling people, addicts and people with mental health issues for as long as I can remember. I don't remember the first time, it was a common sight all through my early years.

I can’t remember the first time, would be in the UK though, I am a bit of a soft touch when it comes to begging.

Some of us simply can’t help who we are and what we feel .
