Anti-drugs activist Gemma Collins quit TV appearance as studio "stunk of weed"

Gemma Collins fled The Big Narstie Show because of the 'stunk of weed', it has now been claimed.

It was previously reported the notorious TOWIE diva left the show after being taunted by fellow guest Vinnie Jones.

The pair were alleged to have come to blows as they filmed scenes for the Channel 4 show, which airs this Friday.

However, sources have since claimed that Gemma actually wanted to take a break because the smell of cannabis on set got too much for her to take.

According to The Sun, host Big Narstie also appeared to fall asleep mid-interview leaving guests Gemma and Vinnie in silence.

The source said: "Gemma was taken aback when she arrived to film the show because the whole place smelt of weed.

"She has always been very open about how much she dislikes drugs – she thinks they are the route of all evil and Arg is currently recovering in Thailand so it really wasn’t on.

"Things took a strange turn when Big Narstie fell asleep and started laughing to himself. The production team were forced to rush on to try and wake him up so filming could continue."

The insider also claimed that Gemma was left 'totally baffled' by what was happening and nipped outside for some fresh air.

The source also said that Vinnie followed her out of the door after.

It comes after the MailOnline previously reported how former footballer Vinnie, 55, rubbed Gemma up the wrong way when he implied that he was 'too good' to appear alongside her.

Sources claim that the 39-year-old reality star rushed to leave the stage midway through her interview for fifteen minutes.

Hosts The Big Narstie, 34, and Mo Gilligan, 31, were then left awkwardly waiting for Gemma to return while she puffed on a cigarette backstage.

Sources claimed that at one point Vinnie wedged a traffic cone between him and Gemma to ensure he had his own space.

Mirror Online has contacted reps for Gemma, Vinnie and Channel 4 for comment.

Use Adblock OR pester James to stop putting massive, obnoxious gambling ads all over the site. or remove the swear filter. Is the site for over-18's or not James? Because if it IS, we should be able to swear, and if it ISN'T, the constant half-page bookies ad is not appropriate. Can't have it both ways :nono:.

Yes Weed stinks when people abuse it by smoking it :yuk:, but she smokes cigarettes so she's hardly in a place to take the moral high ground. Tobacco is a strong overpowering smell aswell.

I just think he's annoying , he's always stoned and now we know he puts barely any effort into his shows :idc: .

I think people also don't like that he pushed a BGT contestant away from him who tried to dance with him , but I think that's just Narstie not wanting anyone in his personal space.
