I'd love for it to win every award but sadly it won't. 1917 will predictably dominate. Joaquin will definitely win Best Actor though.

I'm hoping OUATIH gets a few tonight, just because it's a bit of a trend that Hollywood/"the Hollywood awards" always like to celebrate movies about itself (i.e. La La Land).

Of course I want Brad to win Supporting Actor but I would love it to nab Production Design especially too - the lengths they went to to recreate 1969 Los Angeles in the movie was incredible - no CGI, just all man-hours of redecorating Hollywood Blvd back to how it was 50 years ago - every billboard, street/shop sign, shop window, trash can... Also accurately rebuilding Spahn Ranch from nothing etc etc. Just awesome.

okay but Parasite built a house from scratch on less than an eighth of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood's budget

Not disputing that. However, OUATIH is a much vaster overall project and much more Oscar-friendly imo.

Very rare that someone says Death Proof is their favourite QT film, it's usually everyone's least fav (I like it however).

OUATIH is more Pulp Fiction 1969, a hangout buddy movie within the setting of Hollywood (in all it's glory - production is mammoth, incredible seriously) during "the final days of the Golden Age" when Manson and his Family were about to change everything. There's no real focused plot or anything but it's very enjoyable, "three days in the life of...". It's awesome imo.

A friend of mine went there about two-ish years ago and said Hollywood Blvd (where the WoF is) is horrible. He said there are homeless people everywhere (like on the stars sleeping) taking drugs, begging and following tourists, some getting aggressive and violent (some with guns!), urinating/defecating in the street etc those poor people.

Not to mention all of the people trying to sell you souvenirs and what not everywhere (and being very pushy about it). I've watched some YouTube videos about it after he told me because I couldn't believe it but it's true!

BIB: The popular movie was seen as patronising and belittling, which it kinda was. Also considering most of the Best Picture nominees grossed £100 million + I guess they are already popular films

Who is defending terrorism? You should try actually think of a counter argument instead of taking the cruel and vicious route of accusing anyone you dislike of being a terrorist sympathiser.

Unlike the right and you who are literally choosing not to focus on the threat of neo-nazism because you can't distinguish between right and far right so your tribalism kicks in to protect it, I say throw these yobs before a judge and let the courts deal with it. Thuggish behaviour should always be rewarded with legal action.

Now, go back to to literally taking offense at Taika Watititi speaking out about nazism while branding people terrorist sympathisers. I'm sure the irony of your stance is not lost on you.

I don't even know who they are, I've seen lots of people being labeled far-right, but I can see they're not by just listening to them.

I hear things like the far-right have hijacked free speech, but maybe it was a case of the left abandoning it?

The only place I'm seeing authoritarianism at the moment is on the left.

I'd put myself as leaning slightly towards the left, I've lived in a Labour constituency for my entire life, so I've grew up around true Labour supporters. Why are we being pushed further right, when that's not who we are?

The CIA and FBI would disagree with you there, it's considered the number 1 terrorist threat in the US and it's on the rise here. Just because you don't see something, doesn't mean it's there.

The freedom of speech point you're making doesn't really make sense. Also, you don't understand what authoritarianism is. It's a style of governing and there are no left wing ruled countries that are authoritarian. Authoritarianism, at it's core, is opposed to everything the left is.
