So take a typical week

what have your worn and is now in the washing basket?

So for example I would have

1 Jumper

1 pair jeans

2 Shirts

7 pairs boxer shorts

7 pairs socks

so what do you have? :suspect:

I'd definitely wash t shirts sock and underwear but I wouldn't wash jeans or jumpers after one wear (unless they got dirty or something spilled on them)

Mainly just my work clothes and 7 pairs of underwear and socks..and my comfies.

But I go round someone's house at the weekend to do her washing for her as she can't manage...That's a whole different kettle if fish...sometimes it's 3 loads worth.

In general it’s towels and bedding every 7/10 days.
Underwear everyday, normally 2 or 3 dresses week, same with nighties.
Couple of cardies a week and then whatever hubby puts in the wash.

I go every monday and help an elderly woman out, shes 96 and can still do a lot for herself but I help her with washings, hoovering etc

So every week in her washing basket is 7 days worth of underwear, socks/tights, clothes for each day, 2 towels per day and 3 housecoats/dressing gowns, and also her bedding cos I strip that for her every week.

I can accept wearing jeans or a jumper for up to 3 days if they're not actually dirty, but not putting on a fresh shirt / t-shirt every day? FILTH.

i wear Fife Country Falkland Checked Shirts made with 100% long fibre cotton, gives it a luxurious feel, plus warmth, comfort and long wear. Farmers wear them and they are good for a whole week in winter if you wash daily and wear good quality anti perspirant. Only the cuffs can get dirty if lifting a lot of boxes.

But the same jeans for a week? D: They might not get actually dirty but surely the arse/crotch areas sweat Mr LT?

How often should you wash jeans? It's fine to wait weeks — even months, experts say

Jeans come in all manner of styles, but there's a divide among jean-wearers as to how much to wash them.

If you're washing your jeans after every wear or two, you're likely washing too much. At least, that’s what multiple designers and experts from denim brands tell USA TODAY.

The fabric on denim is thicker than a T-shirt, and you're (hopefully) wearing a
layer of underwear beneath your jeans. Concerns about bacteria are likely
unfounded: In 2017, a student in the University of Alberta wore jeans for 15
months straight, and they contained the same bacteria levels as they did
when he wore them for less than two weeks.

But the reasons are manifold: It’s better for the environment, it keeps jeans
looking good and less faded for longer, and, most importantly, it reduces
laundry.

A report issued by Levi's in 2015 says that washing jeans every 10 wears
"instead of every two times reduces energy use, climate change impact, and
water intake by up to 80%." Levi's CEO Chip Bergh even confessed to not
putting his jeans in the washing machine for over a decade.

I don't understand why not wear jeans/trousers or shirts for days in a row if they're not actually dirty. If you wear underwear there's no reason why they would smell either unless you're sweating every day

Jumpers yes wear them twice or more but if you wear the same pants more than twice that's a bit weird, you shed skin and hair daily and you sweat, as does everyone. No offense but I bet you smell like when you first open a packet of smart price ham and it makes you gag

The fading by washing will have you looking like shaking Stevens in 2 months max.

Depends how many times the towel is used.

If you shower daily then the towel can be used at least twice, unless you were especially dirty.

Jessica.

I use my towels about two times before washing, I don't shower every day because of my skin condition , I hang them up so they don't stay very wet or anything between uses. In summer when I need to shower more turn I'll use them about four times

Yeah, as long as it's dried properly between uses too. If it's left to be damp and smelly on the floor then that's another issue.
