Yes he would have less control
As Johnson PM wanted his own picked advisers
for the chancellor to take
over.

Younger 39 years old Rishi Sunak (Brexiter) takes the job now

Is this normal to have a cabinet reshuffle so soon after they have been put in their posts, surely they haven't had time to warm the seats yet, so they were just window dressing and now are being replaced by yes men/women?

i don't believe anyone at that level is a yes man. They want a team that is united in their goals going forward, not squabbling. Boris has a good majority now, he doesn't need to appease anyone or any faction, and thats why there are changes

I think due to Brexit
we are not in a normal Parliament time.

Johnson PM
has watched Blair /Brown go wrong
and does not want that
situation of arguments.

His Special Adviser Dominic Cummings
is the exact same job that Alastair Campbell
had under New Labour.

Honestly though, who is running the country? It doesn't feel like it's Boris... It feels like it's Dominic Cummings. Some really weird stuff going down.

Boris is not stupid, but he doesnt have an eye for detail so i think Cummings provides that focus. I didn't like it when Alistair Campbell had what I perceived to be too much power and I feel the same about Cummings. It seems that a lot of PM's take this route. May had 2 un-elected advisers that basically ran the show, she didn't listen to anyone else ... and it showed.
