Pretty much judging on just this premiere, although there's also some pre-biases for sure. Ngl I gotta give a MEH to most of the cast on that premiere :omgno: and I like a lot of them on past history

I saw him in Marquesas and All Stars. In Marquesas, I didn’t like him at all and was my least favourite of the season (at the time, but in hindsight I think Paschal is worse), but in All Stars I still disliked him but not as much? Idk if it was because I found Kathy and Alicia to be much worse that I disliked him less because he was pretty similar in both.

I don’t even think he’s that bad a person, he’s just sooooo boring and dull for someone who is as visible as they are :laugh:

I think I would like Rob a lot more if he was genuinely better at the game. This is his fifth time playing and he's made FTC twice; impressive, yes, but his trajectory in Survivor doesn't really match the trajectories of players like Sandra/Parvati/Russell/Amanda, which are all pretty objective in their impressiveness.

To me, Rob is more similar to people like Kelley, Aubry, Malcolm or Joe. They are all three-time players who have done well most of the time but who haven't managed to prove that they can use their cunning/wit to overcome situations in the same sort of way that players like the aforementioned four.

I'm not saying Rob isn't a great of all time. He is. But I have never understood this narrative that Rob is one of the best strategic gameplayers because his Redemption Island win was questionable and he got slayed early in Marquesas and HvV for being a social outcast OR by getting complacent and not covering his bases enough. Parvati's played three times, only ever been voted out once and has never placed lower than 6th. Sandra won the game twice by using strategies that prioritised her ultimate survival above her (un)willingness to work with certain people who she did not personally like. Russell dominated his first two seasons despite his abrasive personality, was never voted out until his third season and was merely a victim of his own notoriety at the time of Redemption Island. Amanda Kimmel cemented herself as one of the strongest members of the dominant majority alliance on all three of her original tribes and played over 100 days of Survivor before ever getting her torch snuffed.

Russell didn’t really dominate HvV, and his inability to get more than 2/18 jury votes diminishes any legacy he might have!

Won't even bother with a new ranking cause it's about the same and a ton of the cast didn't even get any airtime. But basically, Kim & Ben improved further & Danni got worse... I'm pretty glad that she went, I liked her in Guatemala but she was just weird on this season. Tyson in blue, I guess I "like" him so far & he's great on twitter so that helps.

EPISODE 2

1. Parvati (-) - The queen stays evading certain elimination, so on-trend for her tbqh :love: Her trajectory is going to be such an uphill battle but I'm here for her and I'll be rooting for her to make it as far as possible (mainly because I know, somehow, she can talk her way out of anything!)
2. Tony (+5) - Happy-go-lucky, comedic relief Tony is my favourite incarnation of Tony tbh. He's goofy and likable, a very good strategy for him considering his abrasive and intimidating gameplay in his first two tries. I want to see him on the same tribe as Boston Rob.

3. Sophie (+2) - Imagine my shock when I realised I was starting to stan Sophie? She's cutthroat and conniving yet also has that rootability factor because she seems so put together and like she knows what she's doing so it makes me believe that she knows what she's doing and I love that.
4. Sandra (-2) - She'll always be one of my faves. I can't wait for her showdown with Boston Rob, which the editing is definitely pointing towards. I have an unholy feeling she'll get swapfcked a la Game Changers though :/
5. Denise (-1) - Crafty queen managing to conceal the special idol after being forced to tip out ha bag at Tribal Council! Her loyalties at this time are questionable but I'm rooting for her to go really far. I think she could win this.
6. Jeremy (+4) - He's definitely coming for Parvati sooner rather than later, but I love his somewhat default alliance with Michele and I think they are in a great position. Also, I stan him being able to whip out that advantage and trot back to camp if he's ever the target. Imagine the last-minute chaos!
7. Michele (+7) - Her lack of screentime is blasphemous but she's level-headed and keeping a low profile, which I don't blame her for. I have got a feeling she'll go far this season but a lack of power moves on her part will make her trajectory all too similar to Kaoh Rong.

8. Ethan (-5) - He seems bamboozled by the style of play this season but I'm glad he was taken under Rob's wing. I'll never expect any extravagant strategic gameplay from Ethan but I enjoy his presence regardless!
9. Tyson (-1) - In the right circumstances I can see Tyson taking control of this game. Unfortunately, he's on the outs of the tribe that won immunity so we weren't shown much of him this episode. I love him in general though.
10. Kim (+5) - Messss @ her entrusting Sophie with the other half of her idol and Sophie secretly throwing it back in her face. She's desperately trying to get some pull in the game but will she ever recover from this? Idk. It seems to me like she'll always be a bit of a spare part.
11. Adam (+8) - I like him and they're pushing his "funny" moments this season. However, like Denise, his loyalties are questionable and he's literally a couple of moves away from ruining this whole season...
12. Rob (+6) - His ability to coerce people is mesmerising. I am shooketh that Sele are allowing him to run the tribe and call the shots. I admire his gameplay massively, but at the same time I also can't wait for him to be voted off!
13. Yul (-1) - In a game full of interesting and dynamic players, Yul has been way too passive to make too much of an impact. I hope he breaks out of his shell more but, judging from the current composition of his tribe & the overall dynamics, I see him being Sophie's whipping boy this season, and nothing more.
14. Wendell (-8) - Barely saw him this episode with that INV1 edgic but I do like Wendell and he'd be much higher if he actually featured in the story this episode. I do believe he will be instrumental in deciding whether his alliance with Yul/Sophie/Nick chooses to side with Tyson(...and Kim?) or Sandra and the cops.

15. Danni (-6) - Her random blowup this episode :skull: In all honesty, I'm not sad to see her go because she was targeting Parvati due to her own insecurity in the tribe. Choices! @ her spreading Parvati's name around the tribe instead of just going to speak to her and brush things over.
16. Sarah (+4) - She didn't grate on me this episode but I still don't ******* with Sarah. I want her out because I think Cops R Us is going to harm Tony's game and I don't want Sarah to outlast him again!
17. Nick (-) - Literally who? Unless Nick starts bringing it thick and fast I'm really going to be resentful of the fact that we got Nick on the cast over iconic male winners such as Fabio, Cochran or Richard Hatch.

18. Ben (-2) - He's the dumb idiot of this season and I don't mean that in an insulting way but, whether deliberately or not, he's positioned himself as the jester figure of Sele. Unfortunately, this means no-one trusts him, nor do they believe that he has the capacity to withhold ANY secret information whatsoever. The fact he almost got randomly booted today shows his days are numbered.

It's just a solid group of winners and no one's being painfully unlikable - even Yul or Adam. :fan:

...I like CP5goddess Michele, I like Sophie and Kim even though they were evidently told they needn't bother coming in to film this episode, I like sweary almost-retired fisherwoman Sandra, I'd like everyone on the Edge of Extinction more if the Edge of Extinction served as anything other than a scavenger hunt for advantages to later will to Sarah of all people, between him giving Sarah a charcoal facial and singing Baby Shark (while substituting the lyrics with Sandra Diaz-Twine's name) I'm liking Tony a lot more, I'm finding myself randomly horny for Wendell, everyone else I haven't mentioned in this post I have little to no opinion on, I hate Ben, and I've never known a more intense hatred for Adam Klein than I currently do

5. Kim (she's really confirming my liking for her as someone I did originally like but was never all that sure on because of the boring steamroll win - pretty fun yet still strategic this season)
6. Wendell (maybe as high as #4 tho, lowkey finding his cocky heel turn pretty entertaining :laugh:)

1. Michele (If Kaoh Rong was a bunch of questions about Michele's worthiness in Survivor lore, Winners at War was one big ****ing answer: hell yes. She was fundamentally the same human BUT she had an amazing underdog CPP edit, she came in with a stellar prepackaged storyline about wanting to prove her worth as a winner, and she just served scrappy bottomgoddess who constantly defied the odds and was just FUN in doing so. If you ever look at her social media you can see why she's a perpetual endgame threat: she's spunky and objectively pretty, is actually a big dork can can relate well to the nerds by doing **** like making her sister cosplay Jeff Probst in an IG Live, and she's legitimately hilarious and has a great sense of humor. We need her and Kim Fitzgerald for Blood vs. Water 3)
2. Ben (My take on Ben back in HHH was "don't hate the player, hate the game" and my take on him in WaW is "he's ****ing incredible and people need to let go of their misguided hate and let him IN" :love: He's goofy, messy, petty, messy, emotional, a lightning rod for conflict, and just a complete trainwreck of a human being in the best way possible. In a season full of boring gamebots who are devoid of personality and give endless "list of name" confessionals, we desperately needed someone who was terrible at the game and made decisions based on emotions rather than strategy, and Ben played the role perfectly. He gave me everything: a complete and utter disdain for Boston Rob, a hilarious hatemance with Adam, a bizarre UTR feud with Jeremy, plenty of homoerotic moments, and complete loyalty to women and feminism. He's a uniquely complicated character who has fascinating relationships with those around him and constantly Makes Things Happen, and people need to let go of the fact that he has a gruff voice and long beard and robbed <whoever> of the win in HHH because literally only one of those things is in his control)
3. Sophie (more boring than SoPa *BUT* she absolutely cemented her worth as a great Survivor player and I love that she left the season winning over the fanbase at large as worthy and deserving because she's always been an incredibly strong player who had a really impressive win)
4. Kim (cemented her legacy as an incredible player and was a lot of fun in the process? Literally collapsing down to the ground and begging people to talk to her is top tier Survivor content and one of the only funny moments this season. Also she's incredibly perceptive and his reads on people's motives and intentions are remarkably impressive)
5. Ethan (I'm kinda shocked that he's this high because I'm not super passionate about him *BUT* he's clearly a lot of fun and funny AND beloved by everyone and we were so ****ing robbed of Ethan content. He actually has an incredible story and there's just so much more to him than the little we saw in)
6. Sandra (entirely here on namesake alone because she didn't really do anything this season and part of me wishes she just gave it after Game Changers oops. THAT BEING SAID, I want the uncut version of her Edge quit where she rips production apart for the god awful twist because duh)
7. Parvati (similar to Sandra where she's here entirely on namesake because she didn't really do much this season *BUT* she's a cute and fun mom and is effortlessly telegenic and I don't think we'd ever get tired of her being on TV)
8. Natalie (okay she was literally in the game for like 6 days in total I can't put her that high alol and I wish we saw more raw footage of her potentially being the BULLY of Extinction to know if she's actually justified for saying she deserved to get more votes to win, because lol it's not exactly a good look to say you were robbed when you were the literal first boot of the season. Like girl come on)
9. Sarah (a boring gamebot for most of the time but there is a *CLEAR* separation between her and Tony because of things like the fashion show and her entire finale performance as Lacina. That being said, I feel like she's definitely...... a questionable human being outside of the show with some of her views and stances, and she absolutely is the type of chick who only cared about gender bias in Survivor when it directly affected her lol. Like I definitely don't like her As A Person but I kinda love her As A Survivor Character)
10. Tony (I think he's A Good Person who is cute and endearing when he's not trying to be *BUT* so often he is trying to be. I'm not entertained by the Spy Housing Structure or the like wacky rolling around on the ground while trying to find an Idol ****, and I also have issues with just how much ****ing screentime he takes up AND how he's constantly rolling his eyes at people for having fun and having emotions. How dare people actually care about Survivor and wanting to have a good experience?)
11. Nick (Nick the emotional bottom who throws temper tantrums whenever things don't go his way <3333333 Nick the completely average white dude who is continually convinced that he is running the show and WAY more important to the season than he actually is.... not so much :\ also **** you for not giving Michele a vote! but **** me?)
12. Tyson (BORING but his family man schtick and being a stay at home dad is cute. I can't wrap my mind around the fact that he's somehow put in the same level as Sandra/Rob/Parvati as a Survivor legend because one of those things is *not* like the other)
13. Amber (I was not expecting her to be the MORP Edge of Extinction narrator but she was kind of good at that role? However she will always lose points for willingly associating with Robert so)
14. Adam (easily the most annoying human being on this season and possibly on the planet *BUT* he's this high because he's definitely not a bad person, the rest of the cast couldn't stand him and it led to some hilarious moments, and his boot was SO ****ing humiliating :joker:)
15. Jeremy (so I decided this season that my overall opinion on Jeremy is that he's a good and fun person but he's *not* good at being a contestant on Survivor. He has a bizarrely inflated sense of ego, is sour and thinks EVERYBODY is beneath him, is unpleasant and whiny when things don't go his way, and at best he's just really ****ing boring? But then whenever I see anything of him outside the show he's actually fun so I think it's just the effects of the game)

Was an unremarkable footnote this season BUT there is some irony there that I can enjoy, as well as her shoving her hand in Jeremy's face and telling him to **** off :love:)

Danni (it's hilarious how her entire postgame presence was how she would ONLY come back for all winners and the entire fanbase had er as a pregame pick to win, and then we get a neurotic weird mess of a human :love: you can tell that people, like, barely tolerate her and it's fascinating. HOWEVER, her she's hilariously infuriating with how desperate she is for post-game recognition and clout and she's pandering to Reddit and Twitter in the worst way. Basically Kelley Wentworth pre-Cambodia in that regard)
18. Wendell (Wendell's jerk side was kinda there in Ghost Island if you looked carefully for it, and I didn't really enjoy it coming into the limelight season BUT the Wenchele episodes were some of the best this season so I can kind of appreciate what he brought, especially since a lot of it was clearly an editing ploy)
