One of the best movies ever made. Possibly the best sci-fi movie ever imo.

(Even though Blade Runner 2049 does come close)

... I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe...Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion...I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate....All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain...Time to die...

I only saw it for the first time a few weeks ago, enjoyed it apart from that one rapey scene.

I've only seen a few clips of it. I need to watch the whole film. Same with BR2049.

Yeah, great film with one of the best ever music soundtracks. I didn't think the sequel was necessary.

It was a Good Story , though
as older Harrison is in it.

It wasn't, but I'm glad they did as it ended up being one of the best movie sequels ever.

Not even Ridley Scott's best film.

It's not as good as Alien or Gladiator.

Gladiator was a 9.9 movie .. if only there was a happier ending option ..

Seriously so many movies would benefit from an alternative ending on the dvd just enabling the viewer to choose the ending .. it would probably cost a few thousand quid to film another scene or two ..

Gladiator, for example, is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen but I’ve only watched it once as it was such a sad ending ..

"If you find yourself alone, riding in the green fields with the sun on your face, do not be troubled. For you are in Elysium, and you’re already dead."

The above is from the opening scene and obvious foreshadowing.

Blade Runner is an amazing film also, easily one of the top 5 Sci Fi films of all time.

I haven't actually gotten around to watching the sequel yet though... I missed it in the cinema and it's one that I doubt my wife would be interested in, and I don't really get a huuuge amount of time for watching whole movies on my own. It's hard enough keeping up with the TV shows I watch that she doesn't watch :joker:.

Fun TS fact: I went through a hobby-phase in my teens of composing MIDI music files (if anyone remembers those!) and I did a pretty epic version of the Blade Runner main theme. Though my masterpiece was the opening credits of "Angel" [emoji23].

Now I'm feeling really nostalgic. Rainy winter Sundays, watching movies, making MIDI music and playing XCOM: UFO on an all-in-one 486/66 :flutter:

Ha!
I went through a phase of being obsessed with BR soundtrack.
It is one of the most bootlegged soundtrack ever and all versions are highly regarded.
I collected as much of them I could through p2p and burned them as CDs. Ended up with 4 different versions of the soundtrack plus the original releases ( there was more than one )

Interestingly, you sound a little like myself.

I’ll select a group /singer download albums and tracks off YouTube , EPs and soundtracks etc ... even edit certain tracks then compile and burn onto CDs !!

Have you heard of File2File ?

It's probably the best film of 1982. But that's the best accolade I can award it.

It's only my 3rd best Ridley Scott film and it doesn't make my top 10 of the 80s

It’s a website that allows you to ‘grab’ any piece of music ( choose MP3 or mp4 ) for free - from other websites ...YouTube , SoundCloud etc etc
