So... whilst the world rapidly falls apart, we're all grounded in our homes, and the forum ignores that adaptation of Drag Race that Riley is doing, it seemed only right that I kick-start the sequel to the 2010s competition I did at the start of the year, won by Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance".

256 different singles went to the very top of the UK singles chart between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2009. In fact, more did, but I have whittled out the following:

- Charity singles (really, who cares?)
- Re-entries (that summer of 2005 where every Elvis Presley single recharted at #1 was a DARK time)

Because this is a complicated number (where you can only have 25 songs in a poll on here), there will be 11 rounds instead of 10 like last time. The first eight rounds will have 23 contenders, and the final three will have 24. The songs have been randomised, and I fear there are going to be a lot of heartbreaks here because the 2000s - contrary to popular belief - were full of some absolute MASSIVE bangers.

I feel like nostalgia will probably make this game more contentious than the 2010s one, where we were still all very much in confusion as to whether anyone actually liked Drake's songs or were just going with the flow.

Everyone will have a formed opinion on these songs... unless they don't know them :laugh: and researching this was quite fun and a great reminder of some forgotten classics (from this round: Room 5 and Mario Winans!)
